2022 SPRING HOME TOUR

Hello everyone, I'm so happy to be participating in the 2022 Spring Home Tour hosted by Marty of A Stroll Thru Life today!  This week there are over 30 home bloggers sharing their spaces all freshened up for Spring.  This tour is full of a variety of styles and truly offers something for everyone, so be sure to check out the full line up at the end of today's post.

If Kate from Southern Home & Hospitality sent you here (wasn't her tour lovely?) and this is your first time to visit Dimples and Tangles, welcome!!!  I'm so glad you're here, and happy to be here with my regular readers today as well!  It won't take long for you to see that I love decorating my home with loads of color and pattern, and prefer a unique thrifted or vintage find over most anything new.  I spruced up 2 spaces for today's tour, so let's begin in the Entry.

Entry with Black Dresser, Gold MIrror, Striped Rug, and Spring Decorations

The main living spaces in our home have a very open floor plan.  As I mentioned I love bold colors and patterns and work to make sure that although my Entry, Dining Room, and Living Room are technically one big space they all work together while being different enough to be set apart as their own distinct spaces.

I'm always in for a furniture or accessory upgrade or makeover.  This mirror and dresser were both secondhand finds that I refreshed with new paint jobs.  I love this dresser in my Entry for all of the extra storage it provides!

I also love to collect blue and white pieces, and you'll see these busts in different spots in many of my home tours- often decked out in accessories! Most of the time the changing of the seasons brings the opportunity for me to move things around and use what I have in a different way to create a new look.  I generally don't go out and purchase much for new seasonal decor (unless we're talking Christmas, then anything goes! 😂), instead I rotate accessories and pillows around from room to room when I'm feeling the itch for a change.

I feel like for Spring all you really need for a refresh is a bouquet of fresh flowers, and even better if they are tulips!  Nothing says Spring after a long, gray Winter like a colorful bunch of tulips.  I also think pretty bowls of fresh (or faux) fruit scattered around are a nice way to add some color, texture, and interest for the season.

Let's move just past the Entry into the Living Room.  Again, I didn't do anything extra special for Spring, I just rotated in some different pillows (most of mine are covers for easy storage), added some fresh flowers to the coffee table, and concentrated on the mantel decor to say "It's Spring!"

These pink flowers are a mixture of a few different kinds of peach blossom faux stems.  I'm a symmetrical mantel kind of girl and can hardly resist getting 2 of anything new I might come across!

I bought the "Garden Country Roses" from Trader Joes for the first time instead of the regular roses, and I can guarantee it won't be my last!  They are so full and ruffly and open up beautifully.  Pretty sure my husband picked up on the hint as I was sure to tell him exactly what they were called for future reference.  😉  That little green box was just a clearance piece I picked up at Hobby Lobby, spray painted, and glued a random cabinet knob to the top- perfect for housing some coasters!

I have two small strips of blank wall in my Living Room, and this vintage chest sits on one of them.  See links below the photo for some if the projects seen in this space.

If you're able, rearranging furniture is also one of the best ways to refresh your space when you're feeling the need for a change. I flipped the loveseat to this side of the room in front of the big windows, and when it moves so does the bamboo sofa table.  It's hard to get a good photo of it when it's in this spot so close to the window but I tried!

And since the loveseat moved, the pink chairs are now where it was before.  With the dimensions of our living room those pieces are about the only big things I can switch with the furniture layout, but it's nice to do occasionally for a change.
