About a month after we initially moved her in, here's a look at Emily's dorm room tour and the decorations we used! Let's start with a tour of the DORM LIVING ROOM...

After over a year of working on it, I'm beyond thrilled to finally pronounce our Master Bathroom makeover 100% finished! I've been working really hard to get the last details wrapped up and get the space photographed so I could share it with you before we step into the holiday season. I can't tell you how pleased I am and proud of how our green, blue and white Master Bathroom turned out! (All available sources are listed at the end, and don't miss the fun video recap of the entire reno process close to the end of the post too!)...

IT'S A COLORFUL LIFE SUMMER TOUR 2020- PART 2: DINING ROOM, MASTER BEDROOM AND MORE
Welcome back for Part 2 of my It's a Colorful Life Summer Tour! Thank you so much for your sweet response to Part 1 of my tour, and I'm glad you all are enjoying the other colorful Summer home tours this week. Today I'll be sharing a few other spaces in our home with you, starting with the Dining Room. This space got a pretty good refresh of most of the major pieces last year, but I recently repainted the china cabinet a slightly deeper shade of green and switched out the artwork. ...

And in keeping with the lazy days of Summer, we are just sharing some casual snapshots from around our homes... nothing especially fancy! ...

PRAYING THROUGH YOUR HOME- HOME TOUR WITH SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER PROMPTS
In late Spring I attended our state-wide Women's Retreat. The theme for the event was "Home," and with stellar speakers Kay Arthur , Katherine Wolf , and Ruth Chou Simons , it was a refreshing, challenging, and inspirational weekend. Alongside the general sessions there were other activities going on for ladies to take part in. One of those was a "Prayer Experience" where they were encouraged to pray through their home. I had a teeny tiny role of helping with it and wanted to share that with you today. ...

TAKEAWAYS FROM THE OKC SYMPHONY DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE
A few days ago I toured our local Designer Show House that benefits the OKC Orchestra League. The house was originally custom built in 1994 and is almost 6,500 square feet. I didn't photograph every space. It was all pretty, but much of it was not the style or colors that I think you all would enjoy seeing here. Today I'm focusing on sharing specific ideas, features, or accessories that caught my eye. ...

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE- TEEN GIRL'S BEDROOM REVEAL
Hello everyone, Welcome! I'm so glad you found yourself here today for the reveal of my daughter's Teen Girl's Bedroom Reveal! If you're new here I'm Jennifer and I have no special title or training other than I like to decorate my home and share it with all of you! You'll quickly see that I love bold color, mixed and matched patterns, and a mix of new, DIY, and vintage/secondhand items. People occasionally ask me how I label my style, and honestly I have no idea! If it catches my eye, it comes home with me and we make it work. I'm excited to share my latest project with you today! I'd like to give a huge thank you to Linda, the creator of the One Room Challenge , for all she's done to organize and oversee this challenge. This is always the best opportunity to tackle a project, get things done, and Linda is a fantastic cheerleader throughout the process! For the past 6 weeks (literally, I decided to join the challenge the night before......

OKC DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE TOUR- PART 2
Well, you all sure had some strong opinions about Part 1 of the Designer Showhouse Tour that I shared last week. And, for the most part I agreed with you. I debated whether to even show you the rest of the house. However, even though it's not an over the top fabulous show house and some of the design is pretty out there, I think there are still ideas to be gleaned and lessons to be learned. I think Audrey's comment from Part 1 of the tour sums up my intent best: "As a whole I join the consensus, but I'm always distilling the parts so I can integrate them into my own spaces. There were pieces like the monopoly game that my engineer/builder son will HAVE to make! I loved the possibilities of the black and white study! Many light fixtures were to die for!" So, here's (most of-I still edited out some of it) the rest of the house! This upstairs office was one of my favorite spaces, the graphic wallpaper and velvet chairs were the highlights for me. ......

OKC DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE TOUR- PART 1
A few weeks ago a friend and I toured a Designer Showhouse that was open here in Oklahoma City. I took plenty of photos and thought you might like to see the tour as well. I believe that designers from a variety of local decor stores were responsible for decorating each room, and to my understanding this was a pre-existing home that was used for the Showhouse while on the market. The design throughout the home varies greatly, some things I really liked and some things I did not. To each his own, right? I'll show you at least a look from each room, and highlight some of the things I thought were good ideas and things that inspired me for future projects. There were so many rooms that I'll share a portion of the house today and will do a second post with the rest of the home at a later time. The covered porch was all decked out, that tassel garland caught our eye and we want to make one of our own! Also, how about that rug...look familiar? ......

NEW WHITE BUILT-IN SHELVES IN THE LIVING ROOM
This Summer only had one significant DIY project, I painted the built-in shelves in the living room white! You might have caught a peek of the changes here or there, but I'm just now getting around to formally sharing it with you. I thought I'd better get it photographed before things get decked out for Fall! ...

THIS HOUSE: OUR HOME FOR 10 YEARS
We can hardly believe it, but this month marks our 10th anniversary of living in this house. My parents have never moved since they married almost 50 years ago, so I always lived in the same house growing up. After marrying, we moved around a bit, but this is the longest I've ever lived in a house other than my childhood home. My husband's dad is a pastor, so they moved around throughout his childhood and our current home is the one he's lived in the longest in his life. So, it's quite a milestone for many reasons! ...

MASTER BEDROOM REFRESH
It's hard for me to believe, but it's been almost 2 years since I completed my Master Bedroom makeover for the One Room Challenge . There was a lot of work accomplished in 6 weeks, but a few of the things I did were just "for now", and I knew there were still some small changes I'd want to make in the future that didn't allow for such a rushed deadline at the time, or I hadn't found quite the right piece. I made a few choices based on what was readily available and what I could finish quickly. I was still very happy with the finished room, but over these few years I've been changing small things here and there, so here's the refresh as of yesterday! ...

A TOUR OF THE PIONEER WOMAN MERCANTILE
Lots of good people have come from Oklahoma. Baseball players Johnny Bench and Mickey Mantle. Actor and director Ron Howard. Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller. Actor Brad Pitt. Basketball player Blake Griffin. Actor Chuck Norris. Singer and performer Kristin Chenoweth. Astronaut Shannon Lucid, and Humorist Will Rogers. Not to mention Reba, Carrie, Garth, Vince, Toby, & Blake! But in the world of the internet, perhaps there's no bigger jewel in Oklahoma's crown than Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman! The Pioneer Woman was the very first blog I started reading about 8 years ago. Our local paper did a story on her when she was coming out with her first cookbook, and after checking out her blog, just like many other people, I was quickly hooked. Reading about a ranch family's life in the (familiar) country is fascinating, not to mention my appreciation of Ree's sense of humor, devotion to her friends and family, stunning photogr......

NEIGHBORHOOD HOME TOUR {HOUSE #4}
You might remember that I attended a local neighborhood home tour last month and I've shared some of those with you already. Catch up here if you missed one- House Tour #1 House Tour #2 House Tour #3 Today I'm sharing the final home in this series with you. I don't know for sure, but I would venture a guess that this house is decades old, however it seemed to be completely remodeled. All of the bathrooms and kitchen were updated with more modern, timeless colors and fixtures. I love the exterior color scheme. We painted our first home in these same colors, and it's one of my very favorite exterior color palettes. I had a feeling I'd love this house the minute I walked in the door... Dining room- loved the fireplace, moulding, and built in shelves (not to mention the fun table setting!). Black shelves are always a dramatic statement. I will always and forever love an ornate gold frame- ......

NEIGHBORHOOD HOME TOUR {HOUSE #3- SLEEK CONTEMPORARY}
Hey guys! We're in the middle of Vacation Bible School this week, and if you've ever taught VBS, you know what a work out it is! I always help keep the teachers fed and happy, and we are so thankful to have a huge group of kids with us learning more about Jesus. So, that's where my energy has been focused this week rather than on house projects, but I wanted to share another neighborhood home tour with your today. You might remember that I attended a local home tour last month and I've shared some of those with you already. Find House Tour #1 here and House Tour #2 here if you missed those previously. The next tour in this little series could not be further from my style and is completely out of the norm for OKC, but it might just be my favorite! I took a lot of photos in this home, and wanted you to see every little bit, so I'm including most of them. Enjoy scrolling! The entire wall in the living room has retractable doors that open up......
