Hello everyone, Happy Saturday! It's been exactly 2 years since my last "Sweet Saturday" post, and lately I've been wanting to start the series back up. However, it has a new name! In light of current and recent circumstances in our world, going forward with this series, I want to focus on good things I've seen around the web that have encouraged me or made me smile, and I think you'll enjoy them too. It might be an Instagram post, home tour, DIY project, YouTube video, blog post, or something else but whatever I share will be uplifting, encouraging, heartwarming, inspiring, or motivating. I hope you enjoy! Jewel's Sunroom Makeover is dreamy ... complete with DIY Canopy Swing Bed! ( This post was super interesting, too!)...

TAKEAWAYS FROM THE OKC SYMPHONY DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE
A few days ago I toured our local Designer Show House that benefits the OKC Orchestra League. The house was originally custom built in 1994 and is almost 6,500 square feet. I didn't photograph every space. It was all pretty, but much of it was not the style or colors that I think you all would enjoy seeing here. Today I'm focusing on sharing specific ideas, features, or accessories that caught my eye. ...

MY FAVORITE COLORFUL ONE ROOM CHALLENGE REVEALS
It's been a full week since the reveal and I think I've recovered from my daughter's room makeover for the One Room Challenge. Thank you so much for all of your feedback and kind comments! I enjoyed browsing through all of the other 200+ reveals over the past week, and chose some of my favorite spaces to share where color was the star. Some are bright and cheery, some are rich and moody, some have bursts of color sprinkled in that make the room. There are many, many beautiful rooms that I didn't include, I was just focused on eye-catching color in this post. Be sure to check out the full list of reveals ! *If you'd like to see more details or Pin one of these gorgeous images, please click the link directly beneath the photo and pin from the original source. You might not think so, but it does matter for the bloggers and designers who created these beautiful spaces! Shannon Claire Interiors ...

INSPIRING COLORFUL CHRISTMAS TREES
You guys, I'm losing it. I set up our Thanksgiving Table yesterday, photographed it, and sat down to edit photos last night. As I did I realized that I didn't even put glasses on the table and left off a few other little things I wanted to include! #fail It felt like something was missing all along, but the glasses never dawned on me. I almost went ahead and posted it anyway, but just couldn't do it! So, I'm putting the finishing touches on it and will post tomorrow, and I'm bumping up the post I originally planned for tomorrow. Everyone's looking at all of the One Room Challenge reveals today anyway, right? ;) Many people are getting a jump on their Christmas decorations already, but even if you're a purist and wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate, we're only a week away! I was happy with my tree last year, but there are a few tweaks I want to make this year. I've been storing away ideas in my head and thought I'd share......

OKC DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE TOUR- PART 2
Well, you all sure had some strong opinions about Part 1 of the Designer Showhouse Tour that I shared last week. And, for the most part I agreed with you. I debated whether to even show you the rest of the house. However, even though it's not an over the top fabulous show house and some of the design is pretty out there, I think there are still ideas to be gleaned and lessons to be learned. I think Audrey's comment from Part 1 of the tour sums up my intent best: "As a whole I join the consensus, but I'm always distilling the parts so I can integrate them into my own spaces. There were pieces like the monopoly game that my engineer/builder son will HAVE to make! I loved the possibilities of the black and white study! Many light fixtures were to die for!" So, here's (most of-I still edited out some of it) the rest of the house! This upstairs office was one of my favorite spaces, the graphic wallpaper and velvet chairs were the highlights for me. ......

OKC DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE TOUR- PART 1
A few weeks ago a friend and I toured a Designer Showhouse that was open here in Oklahoma City. I took plenty of photos and thought you might like to see the tour as well. I believe that designers from a variety of local decor stores were responsible for decorating each room, and to my understanding this was a pre-existing home that was used for the Showhouse while on the market. The design throughout the home varies greatly, some things I really liked and some things I did not. To each his own, right? I'll show you at least a look from each room, and highlight some of the things I thought were good ideas and things that inspired me for future projects. There were so many rooms that I'll share a portion of the house today and will do a second post with the rest of the home at a later time. The covered porch was all decked out, that tassel garland caught our eye and we want to make one of our own! Also, how about that rug...look familiar? ......

DIMPLE WORTHY DELIGHTS- EIGHT BRIGHT IDEAS TO TRY TODAY!
My fellow blogger friends are so clever! Reading other blogs gives me a great deal of inspiration for my home, and I'm sure the same is true for you. My "Dimple Worthy Delights" posts are full of things that make me happy, so here are some bright ideas that I've seen recently that you can try today, and most of them will probably take less than 15 minutes. The link under each photo will take you to the original post for more details, and if you'd like to pin that great idea please do so from that link! ;) I use moss to cover the dirt in all of my indoor pots, so why have I never thought of this darling idea? I have some lanterns with battery operated candles on the front porch just begging for a bit of color...I'm doing this today for sure! Kelley Nan ...

INSPIRATION FOR A NEW YEAR
Hello friends, my heart is full after yesterday's post. Thank you all so much for your sweet comments and joining in our celebration of our son. I'm often hesitant to post many personal things here, but you all were such kind readers and I truly appreciate how your graciously receive those posts when I do. Now, on to more decorating talk! As Christmas comes to a close each season and a new year begins, I always look around and get the itch to see what I can change around the house. Nothing major, just rearranging or switching accessories or adding a pop here and there. Currently, I'm craving even more color and pattern! You might think...how is that possible? Actually, I do have a pretty neutral base in my home, with the accessories being the main source of color and pattern. ...

BETTER THAN CRAIGSLIST FIND
So you guys know I'm supposed to be working on my bedroom for the One Room Challenge, but things come up, and I get distracted and project hop. Last week after picking up the kids from school, we turned on a street we don't normally drive down in the neighborhood to drop a friend off at home. And it was big trash day. And I spied a pretty chest amid a pile of boxes on a curb. We took our friend home, and I circled back around the block to get a better look. After hopping out to take a look, I wrangled my daughter into helping me hoist it into the back of the truck (it was HEAVY for these two girls!). Thus, the better than Craigslist... it was FREE! ...

MASTER BEDROOM INSPIRATION
In my last Friday Favorites post , I mentioned my intent to participate in the next round of the One Room Challenge this Spring. The challenge begins this Thursday, so my mind is jumbled with all of the inspiration I've tucked away for years. Today I thought I'd share a few of those images with you. Some are specific design elements I want to include in the room, some are for furniture inspiration, and some are just general color or mood inspiration. I'll get more specific on Thursday when I share my inspiration board for the room with you! *If you would like to pin any of these images, please make one click on the link under each photo, and pin from the original source. Thanks! Legacy Linens ...

GREAT IDEAS FROM THE PAGES OF BHG
Even with the convenience of Pinterest at our fingertips whenever and wherever we want it, I still think there's something about flipping through actual pages of a great design book or shelter magazine. I thought the December issue of Better Homes and Gardens was especially inspiring this year. One of them spurred ideas for my own Christmas decor this year: There is so much I love about this photo, but the candles with the "snow" around them caught my eye. I decided to adapt this idea and do a grouping of candles on my dining room table. I used a little snow, also, in the big candleholders flanking the tray. I'm probably not through with this image, though, there is so much good stuff there (those hanging lanterns!!). A few other images from that issue that I'm keeping tucked away for the future... This simple outdoor tree with pinecone ornaments is just as charming as can be. Someday I'll make some fun pinecone stars for the tree, also......

GIRL'S ROOM REFRESH DESIGN PLANS
I can't believe that it's been 3 years since my daughter's room got a makeover. Even when it was "finished," I knew I wasn't happy with the bed and had plans to change it out at some point. Fast forward three years, and many other projects jumped in line ahead of that one. However, her room got pushed to the front burner again recently when we decided to move her from a twin to a full bed. So, with the need for a new headboard and bedding, I decided to take the opportunity to freshen up this entire side of the room. ...

WANT TO PLAY KITCHEN DESIGNER? LET'S HELP A GIRL OUT!
A few weeks ago I shared my plans for a little mini-makeover in my kitchen. With our big trip wrapping up, I'm ready to start tackling that project next week. It's one of those projects that I dread doing (painting the cabinets), but can't wait for the finished product! I'm ready to see in real life what I'm only seeing in my head right now. Earlier this week I received a text from a friend (and my daughter's awesome Sunday School teacher!) who is moving to a different house. She wanted my opinion on some changes in her kitchen, and I thought it would be fun to share here and get thoughts from you all as well. Many heads are better than one, right? She texted me some quick photos of the space, and here are the plans that she is considering: ...

PRETTY LONDON DOORWAYS
Hello friends! We have returned home safely and are trying to get back into the swing of things. Still waking in the middle of the night and not being able to return to sleep, but we'll get there! Our trip was better than we could have imagined, truly a once in a lifetime experience. Staying in the country with our friends made it an entirely different experience than staying in the city would have been, and we absolutely loved it. I have SO much to share with you from our trip, I think it will be necessary to break it down into several posts. As we walked around all of the places we visited, I couldn't help but notice pretty doors everywhere. Many were painted bold colors, or had architectural details that my eye was drawn to, or maybe just looked inviting with a few pots of colorful flowers to frame them. Not all were especially fancy, but had just enough details to make them special. Here were my favorites, and hopefully I've remembered ......

MINI KITCHEN MAKEOVER PLANS
When we did a fairly substantial kitchen remodel about 4 years ago, I knew not long after painting the cabinets that I didn't love them and would re-paint them eventually. Now, with the new wall color, the time has come. Last year when I had the white subway backsplash installed, I knew I'd probably be headed towards white cabinets, so even though the backsplash doesn't look great with the current cabinets, the choice was part of a long term plan. With the scads of kitchen photos I come across, I kept coming back to this photo, the crisp contrast of the black and white wins me over every time. You can bet I'm hunting for a cheap persian rug to use in the kitchen too. Domino via Burlap and Lace These kitchens helped sway me toward the black island and white cabinets as well- via via So that's where I'm headed, but here's the reality right now. You can see just how bad the cabinets are now with the new wall color. I'm SO over t......
