My daughter moved off campus this year and is living in an apartment with a few other girls. (See her dorm room last year here if you missed it.) In August I shared a few spaces with you but wanted to share a full tour including their living room which I haven't posted at all yet. So let's begin the tour there! The star of the show in this room is definitely the cute botanical wall art. I still had lots of pages left in the book I used for my kitchen botanical gallery wall , so I cut a few more out. ( My exact book fluctuates terribly in price, but you could use any botanical book or even search to print free pictures online to achieve a similar look.) I picked up the gingham canvases on major clearance from the Summer collection at Hobby Lobby. They were only a few dollars each and I thought a grouping of them with art mounted on top would be cute and cost effective for the girls' apartment. ( This old project that I did years ago gave me ......

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE- TEEN GIRL'S BEDROOM REVEAL
Hello everyone, Welcome! I'm so glad you found yourself here today for the reveal of my daughter's Teen Girl's Bedroom Reveal! If you're new here I'm Jennifer and I have no special title or training other than I like to decorate my home and share it with all of you! You'll quickly see that I love bold color, mixed and matched patterns, and a mix of new, DIY, and vintage/secondhand items. People occasionally ask me how I label my style, and honestly I have no idea! If it catches my eye, it comes home with me and we make it work. I'm excited to share my latest project with you today! I'd like to give a huge thank you to Linda, the creator of the One Room Challenge , for all she's done to organize and oversee this challenge. This is always the best opportunity to tackle a project, get things done, and Linda is a fantastic cheerleader throughout the process! For the past 6 weeks (literally, I decided to join the challenge the night before......

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE- GIRL'S BEDROOM BEFORE {WEEK 1}
I honestly can't believe I'm jumping into this, because until yesterday I had absolutely no plans to, but we're in for another round of the One Room Challenge! (And I say "we're" because the ORC is always a family affair around here!) If you're unfamiliar with the One Room Challenge , it's a biannual 6 week event made up of two parts- "Featured Designers" who are selected by the organizer and share their designs every Wednesday, and "Guest Participants" who can choose to participate on their own and link up their post with other bloggers taking part each Thursday. It's not a contest, the "challenge" is personal for each participant to get a space finished. Regardless of the group, a whole lot of people accomplish a whole lot of pretty things over those 6 weeks! I have participated in the One Room Challenge twice in the past, and I can't believe those projects are now 2 and 3 years old! Powder Bath......

THIS HOUSE: OUR HOME FOR 10 YEARS
We can hardly believe it, but this month marks our 10th anniversary of living in this house. My parents have never moved since they married almost 50 years ago, so I always lived in the same house growing up. After marrying, we moved around a bit, but this is the longest I've ever lived in a house other than my childhood home. My husband's dad is a pastor, so they moved around throughout his childhood and our current home is the one he's lived in the longest in his life. So, it's quite a milestone for many reasons! ...

BEST OF 2015 {MAKEOVERS}
Today I'm closing out 2015 by sharing my best makeovers from the past year. What is it about a great before and after that we all love so much? We started early in the year with my Girl's Bold and Colorful Bedroom Refresh . We had redone her room several years before, but it needed a few improvements such as a bigger bed, new headboard, new bedding and different nightstands . (We later added the marquee light over her bed, this was just a quick Instagram photo.) Not surprisingly, many of this year's makeovers centered around my Master Bedroom Makeover this past Spring, since that was probably my biggest project of the year. $20 Shiny Brass Chandelier Makeover - from shiny and swirly to warm gold and modern. Orange-y Oak Armoire Makeover - My dad made this massive armoire from scratch so it will always be in our family, but the orange tone had to go! This was my first experience using gel stain and I loved it. Dated coloni......

Hey friends! To start things off, I wanted to THANK YOU all so much for your kind comments here and on Instagram about my Joss and Main sale . If you didn't get a chance to view the sale yet, you can sign up here (it's free to join) to be able to check out my collection and other sale events. I think it has some really fun, unique pieces...even a headboard similar to the vintage one I just put in my daughter's room! My event will stay open until Tuesday. Today I'd like to share a project that I did to finish up my daughter's room makeover a few weeks ago. ...

GIRL'S BOLD AND COLORFUL BEDROOM REFRESH
Last summer I was invited by Crane & Canopy to create an inspiration board for a bedroom using one of their bedding sets. It was so fun to put together, and I was thrilled when they agreed to partner with me to bring the design to life. ...

RED HOT NIGHTSTAND MAKEOVER
I'm suffering from some serious DIY ADD, bouncing back and forth between the kitchen and my daughter's room. A few weeks ago while the weather was nice and I already had the garage set up as a spray paint workshop, I decided to go ahead and paint the Craigslist nightstands that I plan to use in her room. Remember the before? These have been waiting patiently in the garage since this summer for their makeover. The finish on the tops was in really bad shape, you can see that the legs were chipped up, and they had that speckled/stained 70s finish. However, the drawers are stamped Century on the inside and I could tell that they were heavy, quality pieces. ...

GIRL'S ROOM REFRESH DESIGN PLANS
I can't believe that it's been 3 years since my daughter's room got a makeover. Even when it was "finished," I knew I wasn't happy with the bed and had plans to change it out at some point. Fast forward three years, and many other projects jumped in line ahead of that one. However, her room got pushed to the front burner again recently when we decided to move her from a twin to a full bed. So, with the need for a new headboard and bedding, I decided to take the opportunity to freshen up this entire side of the room. ...

DIY ABSTRACT ART
This project all started out with a tortoise shell...Nate's tortoise shell. It was one of my favorite things from his first line for Target, but I didn't snatch it up right away. I knew it would go on clearance eventually and was fine with waiting for the savings. In the mean time, my sister found one at a thrift store, new in the box! Although it wasn't the color I would have chosen, I fixed that up with a few coats of glossy white spray paint. I can't paint everything a bright color... :) So, back to the abstract painting. I had this little corner next to my powder bath that needed some help. When we moved in 6 years ago I hung some iron pieces and hadn't touched it since. They were so heavy and dark, and the time had come to switch them out. So, I knew exactly where I wanted the tortoise shell to go. However, he was a bit lonely there and I thought it would be a great spot to try a little DIY p......
