MOTHER'S DAY GIFT GUIDE '25 - INSPIRED BY A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS!

Mother's Day is already right around the corner and it always comes in the midst of such a busy season with end of school activities, graduations, family birthdays, shower season... lots of occasions!  I've thought about some of my very favorite things that would make great gifts so I hope this Mother's Day gift guide spurs some ideas for you to make this busy season a bit easier!  I have a few specific things to share with you and then a bigger round up of gifts your Mom (or you😉) might love too.  Children's silhouette artwork is such a classic, meaningful gift, the ones I have of my kids are treasures for sure! NATURAL TEXTURES AND SOFT COLORS EASTER TABLE SETTING 2025

Greetings to you this Holy Week!  I've got my Easter table all set and ready for this weekend.  We will be at my Mom's house with extended family on Easter itself, but our immediate family will gather over the weekend so I plan for us to eat dinner together here after our Good Friday service.  This year I used a combination of natural textures and softer Spring colors, but there is still a variety of plenty of color!   To start, I used a pair of rattan lanterns and a trio of fresh flower arrangements for the centerpiece.  The lanterns were from Dillards Southern Living Christmas collection, I picked them up on clearance after the holidays.  I liked the depth that the tortoise glasses added in the mix and thought they paired well with the lanterns and bamboo flatware.  I have a mix of a few different kinds of flowers from Trader Joe's, along with some viburnum and pincushion clippings from the yard.  I used the bow folding technique again like......

VALENTINE'S DAY PORCH DECORATIONS WITH DIY HEART DOOR HANGER

Well hello there friends!!  It doesn't seem like it, but it's been a little over a month since I've been with you here!  We had a nice holiday season and have been getting back into the swing of normal life.  It's a fun time to be back... we get to talk about all of the Valentine-y things!  My porch looked pretty sad and empty for a week or two after I cleared out all of the Christmas, but I spent some time here and there the past few days working on it so now it's a happy little Valentine's Day Porch-   I've had some unfinished wood craft hearts in my holiday stash for a couple of years, and decided that now was the time to use one of them for a cute DIY heart door hanger.  It was an easy, fairly quick project and I'm so pleased with how it turned out! JEWEL TONES THANKSGIVING TABLE 2024

It's so hard to believe that we're less than a week away from Thanksgiving!  Earlier this week I set a Thanksgiving Table and am excited to share it with you today.  I used some warmer tones for Fall but there are still plenty of pops of color. I had planned to get some flowers to use as part of the centerpiece, but the magnolia leaves from my friend's tree that I shared with you recently were still looking so good I decided to trim them shorter and just use them all down the center of the table.   As I often like to do, rather than fully covering the table with a tablecloth, I folded the edges of a strip of fabric under and used that for a base.  Then I layered a strip of paper with a cane printed pattern on top.  It was sold as a "paper table runner" several years ago at Hobby Lobby, I'm not sure if they still carry it or not.  However, it's essentially wrapping paper so you could use any color or pattern you like and just trim the width.  That'......
