Hello, and Merry Christmas!  It's hard to believe we're well into the holiday season once again!  This year, I'm thrilled to be hosting the 2nd Annual It's a Colorful Life Christmas Tour with Jewel from Jeweled Interiors.  The best group of bloggers who love color are joining us for a three day colorful Christmas eye candy feast!  Today I'm so excited to help kick this party off by sharing my Christmas Living Room Tour with you.

If you've landed here for the first time, welcome!  I'm so glad you're here.  My name is Jennifer and I've been sharing my home for over 8 years through this blog and on Instagram.  My goal is to share helpful tips and inspiring projects with you to encourage you to create your own home that's a reflection of your life and style.  I worked several years after college as an Elementary school teacher, but have always been creative and interested in decorating, and although I have no design training have experimented with my own style and home over the years.  I live in Oklahoma with my husband, son (who is actually away at college), and teen daughter.  I obviously love decorating with color and mix and match patterns every chance I can.  Get comfy and come on in, I'd love to show you around!

My regular readers already got a peek of this year's Christmas Tree a few weeks before Thanksgiving (more details here).  It's definitely my favorite tree I've ever done!  Flanked by the "new" hot pink velvet chairs that I found on Craigslist and had recovered earlier this Fall, I'm loving this whole set up!

The Sputnik chandelier got a bit dressed up for the holidays too!  Red and Hot pink has been my favorite holiday combo for the past few years.

Brass Sputnik Chandelier

My favorite accessory for holiday decorating is definitely a group of ornaments.  Put them in a bowl, scatter them on a mantel on in a vignette, pile them in a lantern... they look good anywhere and are the perfect go-to!

Last year I painted the brick on my fireplace white and I still couldn't be happier with it.  With all of the color that I can't resist, it's the perfect blank slate.

The bookshelves flanking the fireplace house a couple of nativity sets and yes... more ornaments!

This little end table usually goes on the other side of the room, but I moved it here to accommodate the tree.  It houses many of my design books and a German Pyramid Nativity that I got years ago at a yard sale when we were on vacation in the mountains.  I can never get candles to stay put or work correctly in it, so I just filled in those spots with small ornaments.

This wreath was one of the new craft projects I added to my Christmas decorations this year.  I've had the bust pieces for several years and they always get dressed up for Christmas!

Pom Pom Trees and Santa Hat (for babies!)- Hobby Lobby  ||  Striped Trees- At Home Stores

We are so excited for this season and looking forward to hosting our family and friends at various times in our home.  I encourage you to open your door and love on someone this season!

And then cozy up by your twinkle lights and enjoy a good Hallmark movie for the evening.  :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Next, head over to  Jeweled Interiors for Jewel's tour.  Oh my goodness, if you don't know Jewel yet you must take a peek at her home, she has a killer style and has been knocking it out of the park with her makeovers lately!  Be sure to follow along with the other It's A Colorful Life tours for the next few days as well, these ladies are color masters!

Have you ever been so excited that you can feel your blood flowing thru your veins and all else is forgotten. Well, you did it today. Your home is absolutely stunning and I am going to try to imitate some of your ideas in my decorating, today. Thank you for sharing with us.

  3. Gorgeous as always Friend! My holiday walk is happening this Saturday. I've done my best to emulate you though you reign "Queen" in my book. Even though I think I'm ready, I'm sure there will be the various tweaks right up to the minute guests arrive! Thank you for supplying a colorful year of ideas!! Merry Christmas to you/family Jen!!

    1. Oh, I wish I could come see it. That will be so much fun! I'm sure it's beautiful and everyone will love all of your touches. Thanks for being here, and Merry Christmas to you as well!

  4. Stunning, as usual! Of course, I love all the color. I missed your story about the hot pink lamps ~ spray painted? I'm not decorating this year as I'm moving on the 20th. This sorting and packing is not fun!

I'm gathering ideas for decorating the new apt. I am grateful for all that I have but I'm ready for some changes. You're more than welcome to come down after the holidays and guide me! 😂
