MY FIVE FAVORITE WAYS TO CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY

Welcome back to My Five Favorites!  Pam from Simple Details, Lisa from Shine Your Light, Kris from Driven by Decor and I are all so excited to share our favorite ways to celebrate Valentine's Day with you today.  If you were really, really paying attention, you might have noticed that in the past we've shared MFF on the first Tuesday of every month.  However, this year we're adjusting our schedules a bit, so look for us on the first Wednesday of each month from now on.

We are so happy to welcome Ann from On Sutton Place as our guest host this month.  Ann has such a knack for making even the simplest projects stunningly beautiful.  She also shares mouth-watering recipes and has quite the green thumb!  I think I need to learn a thing or two from Ann, and I can't wait to see her favorite Valentine ideas that she's sharing with us today.

CRAFTS

I made this little piece of artwork last year, and it's perfect to hang on a wall or tuck on a shelf or mantel.  This is a great project to get little ones involved in, too!

TREATS

Because there MUST be chocolate for Valentine's Day...

If you need an easy, scrumptious Valentine's Day dessert, this Triple Chocolate Pound Cake won't disappoint.  Just serve it warm with those chocolate covered strawberries and a dip of vanilla ice cream... your sweetie and family will fall in love with you all over again!

 TABLESCAPES

We tend to forgo dinner out in exchange for a family dinner at home, and it's nice to put a little more effort into making the table look extra special for the evening.

VALENTINE'S ATTIRE

This shirt for my daughter was so easy to make and turned out so cute, I want one for myself!

DIY GARLANDS

I don't go all out on decorating for Valentine's, and find that a festive foyer or mantel is sufficient.  These simple garlands add just the right touch.

  5. These are awesome ideas, Jennifer! I love the treats, they look so yummy. I like the crafts too, they look so cute. I already have a plan for Valentine’s Day and I plan to spend it with my family including my grandparents. I think this is also the best time to pay them a visit and spend time with them. I’ve actually written something about this just recently. I’ve asked the help of some experts to pitch in some ideas and I got amazing responses. Their answers are varied from bringing in favorite treats of aging loved ones down to reading them a story or singing to them their favorite song. The bottomline is this, be proactive and make them feel that it’s your commitment to spend time with them and it’s not just because it’s a routine or because of a special occasion.
