VALENTINE'S DAY PORCH DECORATIONS WITH DIY HEART DOOR HANGER

Well hello there friends!!  It doesn't seem like it, but it's been a little over a month since I've been with you here!  We had a nice holiday season and have been getting back into the swing of normal life.  It's a fun time to be back... we get to talk about all of the Valentine-y things!  My porch looked pretty sad and empty for a week or two after I cleared out all of the Christmas, but I spent some time here and there the past few days working on it so now it's a happy little Valentine's Day Porch-   I've had some unfinished wood craft hearts in my holiday stash for a couple of years, and decided that now was the time to use one of them for a cute DIY heart door hanger.  It was an easy, fairly quick project and I'm so pleased with how it turned out! SIMPLE FELT PATRIOTIC PENNANTS

Hello friends, Happy July 4th week! I worked over the weekend to get our porch and patio all decked out for July 4th.  I'm also working on a little spot in the Entry and had the idea to make some simple felt patriotic pennants.  I threw these together today and I think they turned out so cute!    I had most of the supplies I needed already, I just picked up some pieces of felt from Hobby Lobby.  I got the squares that were stiffer so they would hold up well.  Other than that, I raided the craft closet and pulled out red, white and blue ribbon and pom poms.  I used some bamboo skewers, you could also use skinny dowel rods.  I also used some glittery foam sticker stars that aren't pictured, they were with the kids' crafts at HL.  Lastly, I created a rough "USA" template on the computer to print out to use as a pattern for my letters.   This is a 9x12 piece of felt.  I marked the center of one end and then used a ruler to connect ......

DIY COLORFUL TASSEL FRINGE STREAMER PHOTO BOOTH BACKDROP

This DIY colorful tassel fringe streamer photo booth backdrop was so fun to put together and turned out as such a festive photo booth op!   I actually made it two years ago around this time of year for a Mother's Day photo spot at our church but it seems like this was just yesterday! It's so versatile and can be customized to include any color scheme you choose- would be so fun with school colors for a Graduation party, color palette selections for a wedding, or a variety of colors for a whatever holiday party you might be hosting. This was such a fun and relatively simple DIY project and other than a few hours of time the monetary investment is pretty small for such a big impact!  I always want to make sure that I give credit where credit is due-  I originally saw a similar idea from Kara at A Kalio Chic Life , but made some changes and adapted the method she used to better suit my needs and budget.  Today I'm sharing with you how I made mine.   Here ......

CHRISTMAS BELL ORNAMENT MAKEOVER

I'm busy decking the halls around here and wanted to share a quick and easy little makeover with you that I just did as I'm decorating.  You might remember a few weeks ago when I shared some of my favorite Christmas decorations with you.  This little less than $2 Christmas bell ornament was on the list, and while it's not really my style as is I had a plan to make it cute!   To get started, I needed to take all of the embellishments off of the bell.  I removed the rope hanger since I planned to use something else and clipped the wire holding on the greenery.  It was also hot glued on a bit but that peeled right off.  You might guess where this makeover is headed...  I used floral wire to attach the bells to an old hanger, hooked that on a branch, now those bells are all prepped for paint!  I considered several color options but ended up using my old faithful favorite metallic gold spray paint   and was able to spray the entire bell all ......
