I hope your weekend is off to a great start! We have a full slate of family activities and church over the weekend, and I'm trying to get my Fall decorations together- too bad it's still in the upper 80s in OKC! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Let's get right to my Five Friday Favorites (which are actually posting on a Saturday and there are way more than 5-haha!).
This easy care soft black dress is a winner as evidenced by the fantastic reviews! It is sleeveless and I like the slight flare of the shoulders to give some definition there. It has pockets and a slit on both sides so it's very easy to walk in and comes in a wide variety of sizes and colors. I sized up for a looser fit as shown on the model- I don't like this type of dress to be clingy at all! The black is under $20 today, maybe some other colors too. Perfect for this time of year when it can still be quite warm during the day, but add a layer for fluctuating temps. My puffed sleeve denim jacket still has a few sizes available, or drape a cute sweater over your shoulders. (Sorry pic is grainy, it was getting pretty dark!)
I think I've mentioned to you all that I'm having to be more mindful of the shoes I purchase and make sure they have good support and cushion (for the most part! I still have my faves that I'll wear regardless of how they feel-ha!) Over a year ago I bought my first pair of these supportive flip flops, and have worn them at least around the house nearly every day, and often out and about in the warmer months (you'll see them in several other photos in this post). I recently bought a second pair- the tan cork which is very neutral and couldn't be happier with them! The soles feel very substantial, my first pair has not seemed to break down or compress at all and the arch support and cushion is very good. They come in all of these colors and are currently under $20- very impressed with the quality for the price!
This top has the most beautiful embroidered sleeve detail, it looks WAY more pricey than it is! It's on clearance with a few sizes left. I think it's true to size, I'm in a M with a comfortable fit.
I added this in last minute because I noticed there's currently a coupon attached... this is the cutest rain jacket! It comes in 3 different polka dot color options and several other solid colors. I like a long raincoat when it is really pouring- my legs always get wet with a shorter one. This one folds up small and has a drawstring at the waist, pockets, and elastic cuffs that slip under a straight hem on the sleeves. There is also a drawstring at the bottom hem that I found a bit odd and didn't like the strings hanging, but I'll just cut those off because I can't imagine ever cinching up the hem. I will say I found this to run small. I got a large and slipped it on over a thin sweatshirt here and could zip it without any room to spare. I would prefer an XL for a little more room especially with layers underneath. Cute little under $30 find, though! Bow sweatshirt from this shop.
Lastly I wanted to mention there's a BOGO FREE sale at Old Navy this weekend. I've never seen them do a BOGO sale before, I believe you can mix and match whatever pieces you'd like. Here are a few of my faves and some new pieces I bought last week that I would highly recommend.
First up, I love this new set I got! It comes in a variety of colors and is a substantial weight but not heavy and very soft. There is a straighter leg pant in store which I didn't care for, but I love this wide leg option with the quarter zip top. I got my regular sz. M in the pants and a L tall in the top for a little more length in the waist and arms- perfect!
Next, I this cotton cardigan gets all the stars from me! Several fantastic color options for Fall. I liked my normal sz. M for this one.
I have several colors of this sweater and just added the kelly green. It's a great basic sweater, very lightweight but warm and super soft. True to size.
My favorite Old Navy jeans (I'm wearing them as I type!) are also included. I buy them in a variety of lengths depending on if I want to wear them with heals, sneakers, or I've cut the hem for a raw edge cropped ankle fit. I'm usually between an 8 or 10 and I prefer the 10 in these.
I never thought I'd jump on board the barrel jean trend, but Emily sent me a pic of her trying these on the other day and they were so cute. It convinced me to try them too! This sale is a great time to try the trend without a big investment. I love the side detail on these! Several washes and colors. They are very high waisted so if you carry weight around your middle size up for sure. As I mentioned I'm usually an 8-10 in ON jeans, I'm actually wearing a 12 here. You want these to fit loose and a little baggy.
