FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

This is my first post since our Master Bathroom Reveal... THANK YOU for all of your support and sweet comments!  We are so very pleased with it and I'm working on getting it fully fluffed, new cabinets organized, and completely wrapped up.   I still can't believe how far we've come in there!  I also finally have a little bit of time to switch up a few things in the rest of the house, and will be sharing my casual Summer tour on Monday.  There's a fantastic group of color-loving decorators lined up to share too for our "It's A Colorful Life- Snapshots of Summer" tour.  It's going to be fun!  But for today, here are a few of my favorite recent finds-  (*This post contains affiliate links, including Amazon.  As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. More times than not, I reach for a simple dress in the Summer rather than picking out an outfit.  It's easier to throw on and usually cooler and more comfortable!  I recently came across this $13 tiered ruffle dress and I'm a huge fan!  The fabric is a nice weight,  the length is generous and the quality is a great value.  I've been happy with everything I've bought from this brand.  With the loose design, I think this runs a little big.  I usually buy a Medium but this is a Small and it fits great.  Sizing is forgiving though, I got a M in a different color and it's fine too, just a little more full.

I really like several pieces from this line, I just ordered the pink shirt dress to try and I have two of the belted "coatigans'.  They're a steal and worth buying now for cooler temps- I like to wear mine unbelted like a long cardigan, especially around the house when it's chilly!

I generally don't buy very many kitchen gadgets, I've always tended to just stick with the basics (more room in the cabinets for pretty plates...ha!).  However, last week I ordered this veggie dicer and I wish I had bought one a loooooong time ago!  For the past year and a half or so we've been cooking with so many more fresh veggies and this chopper is such a time saver.  My daughter and I have also been making a ton of homemade Pico, and chopping time has been drastically reduced with this gadget.  So far we've used it for tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and bell peppers.  It's all top rack dishwasher safe and really doesn't take up too much room, a new kitchen necessity around here for sure!  (Caution- the blades are obviously very sharp!  I accidentally brushed my fingertip across the sharp side and it gave me a little cut before I even knew what happened.  Be careful!)

I've had some insulated cups that are this brand for years and they are my favorite tumblers to use every day.  They're plastic though and are just now starting to sweat a bit after hundreds of runs through the dishwasher, so I upgraded and tried this insulated stainless tumbler from the same brand.  I LOVE it!  24 oz. and truly keeps ice in your cup all day long (or 6 hours for hot beverages).  Although the directions say hand wash only, my sister has had the same cup for a while now and washes it on the top dishwasher rack all the time and has had zero problems, I'm doing the same.

My daughter just picked out these colorful high tops for school.  They're super comfy and she generally selects more subtle colors, so I was surprised and happy with her fun choice!

I'm so pleased with the cordless bamboo roman shades that we used in the bathroom.  My bamboo shades in the rest of the house are older and have cords, so having the cordless option has been fantastic.  I've been shopping for them lately and it seems like these shades are getting more difficult to find, so I was glad to find these in a similar tone to those that I already had.  The only down side is they took over a month to ship, but they were worth the wait!

Bonus:  I always love browsing the sale section when JCrew is offering deep discounts, here are a few of my recent favorites. Yesterday I bought the $14 leopard pants and the pink velvet pants will be festive for the holidays, and in the past few months have also purchased the yellow style of shirt (Em and I have 3 between us), swim dress (such a fun, vintage look- excellent fabric weight and quality), the black pants (my daughter and I actually both bought a pair, I'm hemming hers to be a wide cropped pant), orange dress (comes in 3 colors, size down at least 1), and the floral dress. So happy with each piece I've bought!   Shop the entire sale section here, use code "GREAT"  for extra 50-60% off.
