THRIFT SCORE THURSDAY

Today I'm over the moon to be a guest host for Thrift Score Thursday, a super-fun series on Instagram hosted by Brynne from The Gathered Home, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper and Corinna from  A Designer at Home.

If ever there was a series to instill a bit of envy and jealousy, this is it!  I'm always so curious to see all of the fabulous finds that others come across, it's so interesting to see the variety. The tough thing about thrifted finds, though, is that I can't click to order my own.  ;)  Oh well, it's the thrill of the hunt, right?

I've had a few finds hanging around that I haven't had a chance to share with you yet, so today is the perfect opportunity.  A few months ago I saw these navy stools on Craigslist, and I couldn't make that call fast enough!  It's rare for me to come across a piece that I don't want to change up or recover, and these were just right already.  Can you believe it?  I did have to tweak them just a bit, but I'll share more on that next week. Even though I already had another pair of stools, they come in so handy and I don't think you can ever have too many to pull in as extra seating, and they're especially attractive when there's a pair.

I love thrifting and finding unique items second-hand.  So much so, I almost hate to shop at "regular" stores anymore!  In fact, a good deal of what you see in this photo is second-hand.  When we recently had a garage sale at my sister's house, I traded her a pair of lamps that I brought to sell for that rug that she was selling.  It needed a good cleaning and is ancient, faded, and the edges are tattered, but I love it!  The dresser was a curbside find that just needed a bit of love, and the lamp, sconces, milk glass, and brass candleholders are all thrifted.

It is always so fun to browse through the #thriftscorethursday section on Instagram.  Here are a few treasures that caught my eye this week:

Kelly green dominoes? Yes.  Just... yes.  You can also see just a peek of a darling thrifted lamp that Bee gave a pretty pink makeover to.  Follow @windgatelane here.

I remember seeing a vintage pinball game similar to this at a thrift store several years ago.  That's definitely a piece that I regret not getting!  It would have been such a cool art piece.  Maggie definitely scored for her son's room, though!  Follow @maggieoverbystudios here.

Sabrina scored this fabulous daybed, and after a makeover with a little help from her friends it's the star of this room!  Actually, I love everything about this room!  Follow @futuristichuman here.

Julia just returned from her annual trip to Germany, and she carried this vintage ginger jar home with her. Thrifted souvenirs are my favorite!  Follow @cuckoo4design here.

I'm DYING over these chairs that Elizabeth found at Goodwill.  If I had seen those I would have snatched them up in a second for my patio makeover!  And, all 8 of them would have been less than what I paid for 1 of my Ikea chairs.  ;(  Follow @liz20blog here

We want you to share your favorite find, too... be it from thrift stores, Craigslist, yard sales, antique stores, or wherever... on Instagram for a chance to be featured next week!

Be sure to click over and see our sweet hosts' fabulous finds for this week too. Thank you so much, ladies, for inviting me to share the hosting duties today! (I had a little trouble with my images, just click the link under each graphic to visit the hosts, thanks!)
