10 WAYS TO USE A CORDIAL GLASS

Last week was big, thank you so much for all of the love on my son's room refresh and the kids' bathroom makeover reveal !  It's fun to share the big things like that, but today let's talk about pretty little things!  You all have seen several of the things that I collect- blue and white, busts, lamps, pillows- ha!  I now have something new to add to the list that I'm always keeping an eye out for... blue Opaline glasses .  I recently scored a set of 10 cordial glasses, they're the teeniest tiniest cutest little things!  They're about the size of a shot glass and while we don't drink alcohol, I came up with 10 other ways to use a cordial glass.  These don't just apply to my specific cordial glasses, what tiny little pretty containers do you have around your house that would work for some of these ideas? ...

DIY DYED PINK LAMP SHADE TUTORIAL

There's nothing I like better than a quick DIY project, especially if it's improving a good thrifted find!  I recently bought an old blue and white lamp from Facebook Marketplace.  When I looked at the listing I fully intended to replace the shade, but upon getting it home it was a nice silk shade and the shape really grew on me!  I shared a photo on my Instagram stories and my super colorful friend Camila suggested that I dye the shade pink... brilliant!  So, I've never done that before but I gave it a try and here's my dyed pink lamp shade tutorial. ...

HAPPENINGS ON THE HOMEFRONT |6|

Hello everyone!  Today I'm catching you up on what's going on around our house... projects in process and little updates in our family life that some of you enjoy reading. After adding it in at Christmas, I've really been loving the hot pink/red combo.  Last year I began adding in a touch of hot pink when I got my new rug in the Entry and now I'm adding in a little bit more in other areas of the house.  On our last trip to Ikea I found these new hot pink pillow covers (love the $4 Gurli covers...available in so many colors!) and bought a few.  I planned to monogram them and when I came across this pagoda frame design I thought it would be perfect.  I used the largest size that my hoop would allow and first thought it might be too small, but it's grown on me and I like the subtle tone on tone detail that the red thread adds. HOW TO HAVE A GREAT GARAGE SALE: TIPS AND TRICKS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SALE

Since I was a little girl, my family has held fairly regular garage sales.  My sister and I used to fight over who got to take the money when we were little (now I hate that part!), and I can still see in my head the precise tally columns my Dad would draw up to record everyone's earnings and keep them separate so we could see how much money we made.  My Mom would cover all of the tables with a tablecloth before we loaded them up with merchandise (I don't go that far...) so things would look nice.  Even now, we still hold a garage sale about every other year- and I'm a regular garage sale shopper- so I consider myself a pro at how to run one!  Here are my best tips for how to have a successful garage sale so that you can put a little extra change in your pocket (or fund a vacation, redecorate a room, or cover an unexpected expense if you're really serious!) while getting rid of things that you no longer want or need. ...

WORKS IN PROGRESS

I share projects that I'm working on and sneak peeks pretty regularly on my Instagram Stories, but I realized you all don't usually see little bits and pieces of what I'm working on until I'm sharing the finished product.  So today, I thought I'd share a few of our works in progress with you, too! Last year our outdoor focus was on the patio , and since it's all finished up this year we're focusing on on our back yard landscaping.  We've done a few things here and there over the years, but that basically consisted of plopping a few knockout roses in a bed and calling it good.  The roses all got diseased last year, so we tore everything out and we're starting from scratch in the back yard. We dug out an entirely new bed outside of our bedroom on one side of the patio, ...

MASTER BEDROOM REFRESH

MASTER BEDROOM REFRESH

It's hard for me to believe, but it's been almost 2 years since I completed my Master Bedroom makeover for the One Room Challenge .  There was a lot of work accomplished in 6 weeks, but a few of the things I did were just "for now", and I knew there were still some small changes I'd want to make in the future that didn't allow for such a rushed deadline at the time, or I hadn't found quite the right piece.  I made a few choices based on what was readily available and what I could finish quickly.  I was still very happy with the finished room, but over these few years I've been changing small things here and there, so here's the refresh as of yesterday! ...
