EASTER TABLE TWO WAYS

I took an unexpected little break from the blog this week.  Sometimes I feel like I just need to totally unplug...can anyone relate?  I did want to pop in today though to show you a few ideas if you are preparing to decorate a table for Easter this weekend.

True to form for me, I used mostly what I had and kept it simple.  First up, option #1, sparkly and glam:

For the place settings, I pulled out my bird nests and eggs and used your favorite and mine...frog tape! to make name banners.

I lined the bottom of a mirrored tray with a fun piece of graphic wrapping paper to add some color.

I loaded the tray up with lots of candles and some clipped branches from the redbud tree in our yard.

Some smaller arrangements flank the mirrored tray with a pair of mossy garden birds.

Next, option #2, a colorful table for the kids (or those young at heart!):

For the centerpiece, I used a cute grapevine rabbit from the thrift store with an arrangement of grocery store tulips.

He's sitting on a grassy type runner and colorful fabric folded to size.

For the place settings here I used a mixture of crystal candle holders and small candlewick glasses, filled them with spanish moss and laid a colorful egg on top.  Then, I used some scallop edged scissors to cut more pieces of frog tape, labeled with a paint pen, and just curled the strips on top of the egg.

I borrowed an idea from a page I had torn out of an old Better Homes and Gardens magazine and stapled the ends of paint strips together to make napkin rings.  Paper napkins from Ikea tie the greens and blues together.

Are you having company for Easter dinner?  We're actually celebrating at my sister's house.  I'm taking the rest of the week off, too, but I have some great projects to show you next week!

  12. Both look beautiful! I was working on my tables today -- one for adults, one for kids -- and wondering how I could work in some nests I have. I'm going to adapt your idea with the little flags in the nest because it's just looks darling! Thanks for the inspiration.
