FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

Hi there, I hope you're having a great weekend! Caleb is in town for a friend's bachelor weekend so we got to spend a few hours with him yesterday, that doesn't happen often enough these days! Other than that we've just got a weekend around the house and church Sunday morning, it's SO hot that not doing much of anything sounds perfect to me! Here are my Five Friday Favorites for this week!

1) It seems like this summer has been particularly humid, and I had almost forgotton about my secret weapon hairspray.  I use one that's a bit lighter day to day, but my hair has been a wreck lately and I remembered to pull this out of my cabinet! It holds curl in humidity better than anything I've used.  It's serious, though!  I like to spray it in quick bursts, scrunch my curls, then let it dry and lightly comb them to tame strays if needed. It's good to have on hand for bad hair days- add to your cart on Amazon, Walmart, or Target.

Weather Control Hairspray here, here, or here || White T-Shirt || White Bead Necklace- $9 today! ||  Vintage Walking Liberty Coin Necklace (similar here) || At Home Gel Manicure Kit with this color polish

I polled my friends on Instagram and asked them what their favorite drugstore hairspray was (bonus if around $10!) and here were the responses.  Let me know your fave in the comments if it's not listed here, I'm going to try some of these too!

Elnett Extra Strong Hold || Tresemme Ultrafine Hairspray  (this is the one I currently use most days when I'm not using the one I shared above) || Freeze It Original || Frizz Ease || Aussie Max Hold- I've also used the Flexible Hold for years but have been having spraying issues with the nozzle lately... otherwise love it for everyday hold || Hairitage Texture Spray- for volume

More pricey but readers say worth it-

2) I was at my new friend's house a while back picking out a custom ruffled collar button up to buy from her and noticed she had this mousepad desk mat  under her sewing machine.  I have my machine on my dining room table often when I'm sewing and worry about it scratching the table when I scoot it around, why have I never thought to use something like this under it?  Of course, the scallop gingham design sealed the deal, lots of colors!

3) Maybe 6-7 years ago I got some pink block heel sandals at Old Navy that I've finally worn out.  I was thrilled to find these pink sandals as a replacement! And, they're even a little better for this stage in my life because the 2" heel is definitely better on my feet than the old 3" ones. I wear these a lot from Spring-Fall, they come in a wide variety of colors tempting me to get another pair... maybe this fun green or even the transparent ones??

Block Heel Sandals ||  Dress many years old from J Crew- sorry!

4) I stumbled across this sweatshirt on the clearance rack at Old Navy the other day and picked it up for Ray, then quickly decided that I wanted one too so I ordered my own! I had seen it online but didn't notice the detailed design until I saw it in person- the flag is all stitch work.

Love it! I think it's a steal at under $15.  It is mens but I think the sizing is pretty unisex other than the arms being a bit longer- I'm wearing the XL which is comfy and oversized, also ordered the L.

Flag Sweatshirt || Gingham Button Down || Jeans (Light Wash- I cut hem) || Sneakers or Similar Here  || Pink Rug

I saw a few other things on clearance like this cotton poplin pajama short set, I have it in a few other colors and love it!   I also tried this gingham cropped sweatshirt on in store and it's SO cute.  The cropped fit wasn't quite for me but if that's something you like this piece is a winner!

5) Lastly, more clearance goodies from Walmart that are worth a look!  I've purchased several of these things recently for myself and several things for Emily as she continues to build her professional wardrobe. She loved this cotton puff sleeve sweater in navy, I got it too in white. The quality is fantastic and seems WAY more expensive than the price tag! In my opinion, this brand always runs a little small in sweaters.  Em is normally a M and I'm usually a M or L, we both probably could have done a L but preferred the XL in this one.

On a side note, not marked down but these bow jeans are back!  Mine are from last year so the color options are a bit different this year, I think they look like they could have come straight out of a little boutique! (size up if in between)

A few other pieces, fun accessories and some mens' deals that caught my eye are shown in product pics below- click on photo to shop. I recently got this cap sleeve t-shirt and it has the perfect amount of weight and stretch to hold its shape nicely.  It comes in a lot of colors and wide variety of sizes and is marked down to $6!  It is a snug fit so sizing up will give a little more room while still being structured. (I liked the XL)

I can't believe that this best selling short sleeve button up is under $12!

On it's way to me- couldn't resist this precious 100% cotton top that comes in 4 colors and is marked down to $7! Pair with shorts now and jeans in the Fall, would be great with pants for work, too! Also on the way- somehow I missed that my favorite WM designer look for less loafers were out in a mule version this summer!  I grabbed the black- even with the raffia texture I think they'll be great long into Fall. The powder blue is also adorable and trending for Fall, I have the loafer version in that color.

I sent Emily a couple of these $8 dressier pants to try for work- worth a shot!

A few other pieces not technically on clearance but still a deal- This knit dress is a great little throw on and go piece!  Super impressed with the weight of the fabric this (size up for looser fit).  I've shared these $17 pants with you recently, but I just got one of the new colors and wore them all day in the car on a road trip to see Emily, then running around town once we got there and even on a walk with her that evening. Viral for a reason!  I hemmed this pair a couple of inches for a cropped fit. Elastic in the back waistline- I'm in a M. Hard to tell in the photo but I paired them with one of my fave striped button up shirts.

Here are some of the clearance deals that caught my eye- several under $10!
