I hope you enjoyed seeing the porch and front of our house all decorated, thank you for your kind comments! Today I'll show you around one of the most used spaces in our home, the patio and back yard.
The outdoor fireplace is the best spot for me to load up on the decor, we're definitely not using it for fires right now! I removed the sticks from some mini flags and hot glued them to a ribbon (after consulting the internet to make sure I positioned the flags correctly for vertical hanging!) to add a little garland across the top of the tv.
If you haven't noticed in my July 4th tours yet, my motto for any pot is "YOU get a flag and YOU get a flag and YOU get a flag!!" ๐คฃ I thought these little firecracker picks from HL were cute too.
I just checked the old post and I made this USA garland 11 years ago!!! Fun little project that you can do with any fabric scraps. I added some marbled red white and blue tassels to the bottom, here's a tutorial if you've never made them- so easy! The red and white garland is from the HL Christmas line several years ago. Another double duty piece- yay!
I switched out the pillows on the outdoor sofas for good old red, white, and blue. And this is a longer story but that's a "new" to me ($10 FBMP find) coffee table! It needed some tightening up and I painted the top frame, the legs are brass. You might remember my navy bamboo coffee table that I LOVE, but the glass got broken and it was way too expensive to replace the top with it's special cuts, so this is a good stand in for the time being. Didn't get rid of the bamboo one for sure, I'll either come across a replacement glass or come up with another idea for the top one of these days.
In 2022 we took a family trip to work at a Polish summer camp for orphans. We were there over the Fourth of July and they like for us to share our traditions for the holiday with them, so we took a bunch of patriotic stuff to have a party that day. I found these glasses that we had taken in my closet and thought they needed to be out on display, I love that they are a little reminder of such a wonderful opportunity for our family to do together. And you know I can't pass up any opportunity to dress up a bust- or head planter in this case!
I originally hung this wreath on our back gate, but the boxwood totally blended in with the trees behind it and it didn't show up well from the house/patio. So, I moved it to this door and hung something else on the gate. Again, I'm loving a few "liberty" bells added in here and there for the Fourth!
My DIY Dalmatian pup is all decked out too! Found this large disco ball planter at TJ Maxx a few years ago.
I hung more bunting flags all down the fence, they feel so festive! I opted for the all poly ones here, I knew they would get wet, blown around, bird pooped on, squirrels scampering across them... so they can handle all of that with no worries.
Maybe one of my favorite things I did this year was to add "firework" (star) lights along the patio!
I got the Moravian stars years ago to use at Christmas but haven't used them in a while. The thinner LED star lights were from Christmas a few years ago. They are all plug in and take some ingenuity to figure out powering them all. This cord with an outlet every few feet was crucial! I did find a similar "firework" star light that is remote/battery operated as an option though, that would be much easier! These are all also plugged into an outdoor outlet that's on a remote, so nice!

Lastly, I bought some solar string lights last year and just got around to hanging them. We decided to string them along the top of the fence. They work so well and we've been so happy with them! It's nice to have a little sparkle across the back of the yard at night.
Thanks so much for stopping by to see our decorations today! I'm planning my grocery list and headed to the store early in the morning- here are some of our favorite recipes for the Fourth- I'm making the Squash Casserole and ALWAYS the Butterfinger Ice Cream!
