Happy first Friday of October! Still waiting for cooler weather in Oklahoma but otherwise ready for all things Fall! Emily and one of her roommates passed through town today headed south to meet up with some of her friends that she made while interning this summer. They go to Texas A&M so she'll be getting to experience all of that hoopla and a game at Kyle Field. We grabbed lunch together with my Mom so that was fun to visit for a minute. Otherwise I have weekend plans of finishing up some Fall decor inside the house (even though it doesn't feel like Fall), spending time with some old friends, trying to squeeze in a quick project, playing catch-up on chores and making plans for an upcoming trip. Do you have any fun plans? OK, let's get to those favorites for this week!
Carmel and I have been "blog friends" for years, and I'm so excited for her as she has written her first book! Her homes have been such an inspiration to me over the years and our style is similar in some ways (she inspired my hunt for a beautiful brass trunk!). She is NOT afraid of color, pattern, and expressing her personal style in her home. This book is a chronicle of how she's done that, and she teaches you how you can do it too! It is not only packed full of beautiful spaces that Carmel has created in her home, it's a valuable source of instruction and encouragement to identify your own unique style for your home and have the courage to make your home reflect you. It has so many tips and ideas, I have really enjoyed reading through it! I think you'll love it, and so would any design or coffee table book loving friends.
Love that Leopard! Last Fall I stumbled on some leopard sneakers with red laces that were such a fun pop for casual outfits. They sold old fairly quickly, but I just came across them back in stock this year. They are under $40 and very comfortable! This is my exact pair, but I found a few more similar options too.
Last year I also got 2 pairs of leopard pants and have enjoyed wearing them so much! Whether casual with a button up or t-shirt or mixed and matched and dressed up for the holidays, I got a lot of wear out of them. I've noticed several cute styles available this season if you want to try some out.
My hair isn't done and I don't have makeup on, but I put this on and had to share it immediately! Yes, it's just as bright as it appears in the picture. Even I was a little nervous when I pulled it out of the package thinking it was too much 😂 but then I put it on and absolutely loved it. It's a traditional sweatshirt/sweatpants fabric, but very soft and not too heavy. The pants are true to size for a relaxed fit, I'm in a M. I would say the hoodie sweatshirt runs a little small, I sized up to a L and it seems just right but still not particularly oversized on me. These pieces come in a ton of colors and sizes and are currently on sale. (One note I noticed in the reviews that I thought I'd pass along- be sure not to wash it with lighter colors the first few times, the dye might bleed a bit in the wash.)

Oh my goodness... I have loved Bordallo Pinheiro dishes for years and have a collection of green pieces, but it is getting harder and harder to find. Southern Living has made a collection inspired by the original design that is fantastic!
They are so similar to the original pieces made in Portugal and the colors are drool-worthy. If you love the style but don't care to hunt for pieces, this is a treasure trove! Some of the pieces are available in all 3 colors, click on the photo for more details.
They are the perfect pieces to mix and match on your table- here's some of mine from over the years. (See more tablescapes here)
As I'm sure you've probably seen on your social media feed, it's not too early to start thinking-or at least planning- for Christmas. Last week when I posted about my botanical/Christmas gallery wall, I mentioned filling in some of the blank Christmas spots with scripture advent cards. Mine were from a local boutique, but I found these advent scripture cards that are so adorable and they are half price right now! Here's an alternate set as well, they are not only cute framed but also could be clipped to a garland, hung with ribbon on your tree, or displayed and changed out on a small easel.
Sharing a few Walmart favorites today, several of these I've had for over a year and wear often. I was on my grocery run a few days ago and so many cute new arrivals caught my eye I thought I'd share those with you as well. I have a new order on the way and will style the winners and share them with you next week.
This white ruffle trim blouse is a classic- fantastic quality and could totally be on the rack at J. Crew! You'll appreciate the Walmart price, though. It consistently sells out and restocks for a reason. And ever since I first tried them on I've been a fan of the Scoop brand scuba pieces. I've passed along a set to my Mom as well and she loves it too. Wide variety of styles, colors, and sizes available.
Here are the cute new pieces I noticed in store. I love the quilted barn jacket, I've seen some canvas versions but this this one looks a little more polished, the green is more olive than the photo appears and it's my favorite. People are going crazy for the trench coat and what do you know... another leopard piece! 🐆🩷. The Walmart line of pjs is consistently SO good, such cute patterns this year. The separates are incredible soft and I'm dying over the satin sets- leopard and bows! All nice quality and incredibly affordable!
I just realized I ended up with six things on this week's list... bonus for you! 😁 So that's it for today, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
