IT'S A COLORFUL LIFE CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR KICKOFF AND MY 2021 CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR PART 2: PORCH AND ENTRY

I've been super busy decking these halls and am so happy to be kicking off one of my favorite weeks of the year today, it's time for the It's A Colorful Life Christmas Home Tour blog hop!  I have no doubt you've seen plenty of Christmas home tours by now, but hopefully this week will be filled with the happiest, most festive and colorful spaces for you to enjoy different than anything you've seen yet! I've gathered 23 of my colorful interiors loving friends to share their holiday homes with you and have no doubt that each of their tours are going to be loaded with great ideas and inspiration this week! (See the full tour schedule at the end of this post.)  And, if you're an Instagram user, we'll be inviting you to participate in the touring fun on Friday by posting your colorful Christmas spaces with the tag #ItsAColorfulLifeTour so we can all see! Today, I'll be sharing Part 2 of my Christmas Tour with you, our Front Porch and Entry.  If you missed Part 1 of my tour, hop on over to check out my Christmas Tree!

My porch decorations have stayed pretty similar for the past few Christmases, I've just enjoyed this set up so much I'm not tired of it yet!  I did however switch up a few small details.  This year, instead of black and white gingham accents like I've done in the past, I switched to pink and white gingham ribbon mixed with red to match what I'm using inside the house too.

The concrete lions from my Fall tour stayed out front but got their ribbon switched as well, along with a few ornaments to adorn their necks.

These are the best little inexpensive flocked trees.  This is the third or fourth season I've had them outside- in the snow and rain- and they're still doing great!  I cluster groups of smaller ornaments with a white pipe cleaner and tie them on the branches.

I also changed the front door wreath just a bit from years past.

Flocked Garland and Wreath, Assorted Ornaments-  At Home Stores
Door Color- SW Dignity Blue

If you happened to see my post early before I re-shot some photos due to bad lighting, you saw the wreath looking like this.  I picked up these darling velvet reindeer in the dollar- but they were $3- spot at Target and added them to my wreath.  When looking at preliminary photos, especially from a short distance back, they were hard to tell what they were.  In fact, they kept making me think of sea horses somehow instead of seeing the reindeer shape... ha!

So, I did a quick last minute switch and added ornament clusters back in and some little nutcrackers that were also at Target.  I also used some mini disco ball picks that I got from At Home a few years ago.

I like this better, especially from a distance, but may still tweak it a bit more!

The cutie reindeer found another home in my lanterns where they are frolicking through a colorful tinsel tree wonderland.  I've had these lanterns for years.  The original finish is a rustic wood but mine needed a refresh so I painted them black last year.  They've been out of stock for a long time and I though they were gone for good but I just noticed that they're back!! They are such a substantial size and I've found them so versatile over the years.

Let's move inside to the Entry!

Color Entry or Foyer Christmas decorations with paper star hanging lanterns, bottlebrush trees, busts, and Christmas village houses

Once I got the notion to try spray painting one of my big paper stars for my Christmas tree topper, now I #CantStopWontStop coloring more!  Ha!  I often hang these stars over the mirror (all of mine were originally white or gold, see some past tours here) but now with a few bold colors they have a completely different look.

My little family of busts moves from spot to spot seasonally, they were in the Living Room for Fall but moved to this spot for Christmas this year.

I always like to add some accessories to them to fit the season.  I found the Santa hat with the baby accessories at Hobby Lobby several years ago and the bow tie with last Spring's collection at HL. The scarf and earrings are out of my closet!

I usually clear the lamps off for Christmas, but opted to keep one lamp on my Entry table sheerly for the fact that we needed more light in the space than the stars provide.  This lamp is part of a set that's a classic D&T thrift store makeover, you can see more here, I've painted them again since the original makeover but used the same process.

If you've been around here for a while you might remember the thrift store runs I made two years ago to collect a group of village houses to paint for Christmas.  A few made their way into the mix here this year too.

I often play musical rugs in my Entry, the navy and white striped one that I've had forever is back!  I just love its graphic punch with the bold colors of my Christmas decorations, and it complements the adjoining Dining Room nicely.  I'll share that tour with you next week as part of a fun tablescape hop I'm a part of.

This sweet little pillow was another Target $5 spot find when I picked up the reindeer and nutcrackers...  I'm telling you this is why I rarely go into Target.  It's dangerous!  🤣

The brass umbrella stand (which needed a good polish!) and bamboo handle umbrella are recent thrifted finds.  I bought the umbrella for a few dollars purely for it's pretty handle, the fabric isn't in the best shape but it's perfect for styling!

I hung some faux boxwood wreaths on the Office French doors this year, with more gingham bows of course!  I'm sitting where I have this direct view right now as I edit this post... love it so much!

I hope you enjoyed my bright and cheery Christmas Front Porch and Entry! Now, grab a refill of your morning beverage and head over to Haneen's Haven to continue today's blog hop tour.  Haneen loves color just as much as I do but creates her spaces with a totally different elegant, sophisticated vibe.  I can't wait to see what she's sharing today!  Then, follow along for the rest of today's tours as well.

    1. I know! I tried to find them online and couldn't. I have a feeling they had just restocked when I found them. I need to grab a few more pink nutcrackers but I might have missed my chance by now! Thanks for visiting, Miche!
