PINK AND GREEN THANKSGIVING TABLE

It's hard to believe that we are just days away from Thanksgiving- my kids arrived home from college yesterday and we're looking forward to the week together!  I enjoyed putting this together and am excited to share my pink and green Thanksgiving Table with you today.

I *almost* didn't create a Thanksgiving table this year.  We'll be at my parents' home for the day and I was feeling crunched for time, but I couldn't not put something together for the holiday... ha!  We will enjoy dinner at our table tonight with company and also enjoy the centerpiece through the rest of the week.

I had no ideas for how to decorate my table this year, but I had these gorgeous almost vintage looking carnations that have been on my coffee table for 2 weeks and are still going strong, and they became my inspiration and starting point.

For the centerpiece I used a large brass tray, gathered up a lot of brass candlesticks and trimmed some trees in my flowerbed.  I began by laying out the candlesticks and small drinking glass vases where I wanted them, they layered in the clippings to fill in all of the empty spaces around the tray.  Then I remembered I had these Thanksgiving figurines and worked them in too (from Hobby Lobby years ago, sprayed gold).

I bought these large Bordallo Pinheiro chargers at Ross over 15 years ago, sorry I never see anything like them now to share a similar source with you!  However, you could get a similar look by spray painting dollar store chargers the same color green.  I've done that with chargers before and it works great, just be sure they dry really really well!

The oval woven placemats, pink Homer Laughlin plates, and brown cane plates (Independence Ironstone "Interpace" if you want to search but really hard to come by!) are thrifted.  I scored an amazing after Christmas clearance at Dillards probably 20 years ago and bought a set of Friendly Village dishes.  I love using them this time of year and the colors blended perfectly with my flowers.   The tall pink stems moved to my house when my Mom cleaned out her cabinets.  :)  I didn't have any napkins that matched this table (except white... no fun! 😂) so on an emergency Homegoods run I was thankful to find these pretty green ticking stripe napkins that fit in perfectly.  I didn't have a chance to monogram them yet but that's definitely happening!

(Here's that top that I shared with you yesterday again!)

Many things are second hand or thrifted but here are some sources I can share with you, click the left and right arrows to see more.

I've got to decide what I'm cooking but as I mentioned we'll be eating dinner here tonight!  I hope you all are enjoying your weekend as we prepare to kick off this holiday week.  Have you been to the grocery store yet?  I have my list ready!  (Sharing some of my favorite holiday recipes below.)

A few of my favorite recipes that are perfect for the holiday...

MOLASSES COOKIES (similar to a ginger cookie but stronger flavors)

  3. Just gorgeous, Jennifer, and I love the idea of painting your Thanksgiving figurines gold. Brilliant! I have some that I haven't been getting out because they look like they are from the 70's, now I know just what to do with them. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving!
