It's that time of year when we're all making our lists and checking them twice, then shopping, shopping, shopping!! But do you put much thought into wrapping all of those carefully chosen gifts for your family and friends once your list is all checked off? I love wrapping a beautiful gift in a box with festive wrapping paper and a lovely bow and do most of my gifts that way for Christmas, but practically speaking some gifts are just awkward shapes that aren't well suited for a box. And so, a gift bag it is for those presents! However, rather than generic, your gift bag can still be just as beautiful and special as a gift wrapped box if you make your own! Today I'm sharing some DIY custom gift bags that I had so much fun making, and I think you will too!
With just a few minutes and simple supplies I turned this
into all of these!
These bags took no time at all to make! If you're like our family and need something to do after you bellies are full of turkey, gather up the crew and have a fun craft session! You'll have a great time working together and get a big head start on your holiday gift wrapping!
I spent a few minutes browsing the Hello Hobby crafts line from Walmart Home and found everything I needed for this simple DIY project. I was so impressed with the quality of everything I used, especially the variety pack of brushes. The round tip sponge painters are some of my favorite craft tools for painting polka dots in a hurry, and all of the brushes were soft and helped the paint to go on very smoothly... such a great value for this handy set! The pack of gift bags was also a great deal and they are nice and sturdy.
This project is perfect for anyone, young or old. Pick up some of the finger paints for even the littlest ones to create their own custom artwork or handprints on a bag, I bet the recipient will quite possibly love the wrapping more than what's inside! Older crafters can paint more intricate patterns or designs, or create a special design unique to the recipient. Or, with a low-temp glue gun go crazy with some pom poms! Finish the gift bags off with a cute bow and original custom gift tags tied on or clipped on with a mini gold clothespin.
