HOW TO TIE A BOW THREE WAYS WITH VIDEO TUTORIALS

Hello friends, I hope your Christmas week is off to a great start!  Do you still have a million odds and ends left to do like I do?  Tonight is set aside for Christmas movies and wrapping presents, I'm happy to have a husband who wraps and I tie all of the bows!  Speaking of bows, I've had several friends from Instagram ask how I tie my bows, so rather than sharing there I thought I'd create some videos to stay permanently here on the blog showing you how I tie my bows.  I've made three separate videos showing you three ways to tie a bow for various uses.

Let me preface these videos by saying I'm not a great video maker!  These aren't super polished, don't have fancy editing, and the audio is spotty here and there... it's just me sitting down and talking you through how I tie these bows (looking at the wrong spot on the camera the whole time too- ha!).  However, I hope they're helpful in spite of my lack of technical video skills!

Some of you have been tying bows for years and years and this will be absolutely nothing new to you.  But, I have to remind myself that there's a first time for everything for everyone, and many who follow along here might not be quite as accomplished bow tiers (just like I'm not very accomplished at making videos- ha!).  So, what might seem basic and second hand to me is a learning opportunity for someone else.  That's my whole intent for sharing on this blog in the first place!  So if you're just learning and honing your bow tying skills, I hope something in these videos is helpful for you!

    1. Hi, I'm not sure what you're seeing, but they're all there! The frames are slightly shaded with a white play arrow in the center. :)

  2. Thanks for the great tips. Esp where to find the ribbon I love the simplicity of the stain ribbon. One tip I'll share is when you want to reuse the ribbon but it's wrinkly I get out my hair straightener and it's perfect to iron the ribbon.

  6. Jennifer, I loved the videos and it is going to help me so much. A friend of mine makes the "Big Bow" you did in the last video. She starts with big loops and gradually goes smaller with the loops so when she is done it's pretty rounded and the center is a small loop. I'm not a blogger but I hope I described this enough for you to understand what I am saying. Happy New Year!!!
