FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

This week totally flew by!  We're looking forward to a weekend with gorgeous weather, and I have plenty of upcoming projects to work on.  We have a new Chicken Salad Chick opening in town so we're going to the soft opening this afternoon, I can't wait! (It's the little things to look forward to, right?...ha!)  Love chicken salad... what's your favorite thing to get if you have one in your town?  Speaking of favorites, here's a few from around our house lately!  (*This post contains affiliate links, including Amazon.  As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Who asks for green dominoes for part of their Valentine's Day gift?  This girl!  We have yet to play with them, but they're a perfect quirky, fun bowl filler!

My husband, on the other hand, asked for this record player.  I got him kind of a basic, low end portable record player several years ago and he started collecting his favorite records, but he was ready to upgrade a bit.   This belt driven record player (apparently that's a thing- he's dictating this description to me... ha!) is the best of the inexpensive record players.  He likes that it has auto stop and start, a weighted turntable, and you can easily connect it to any stereo system through regular audio cables or use the bluetooth button and it will sync to any bluetooth device with a decent connectivity range.

I neglected to mention this in the kids' bathroom reveal post, but with the new shower we no longer had a spot to hang anything on a hook (we previously just had the over-the-shower-head rack that they could hang a loofah or washcloth from).  We've actually used these Magic Suction Shower Hooks in our shower for years and they're the perfect solution.  I just ordered some new ones for the kids' bath and thought I'd share them with you.  They have a button in the middle that you push firmly to attach the hook to the tile, and as they loosen there's a red mark on the side of the button so you can tell when it's time to tighten it back up before it falls off.  They work really well and stay "stuck" for months and months before needing to be tightened down again.  And they're cheap! Highly recommend!

Last week my husband joined me at the supercenter grocery store, and disappeared for a while while I zoomed through my list.  He caught up with me on the grocery aisles  and dropped these shoes into our cart.  He'd been looking at similar pairs that were well over $100, but stumbled across these for around $25 and decided to give them a go.  He loves them and has worn them almost every day since, and even the "shoe guys" at the office have complimented them!

It's time for the J. Crew End of Season Clearance, you all seem to enjoy looking through my picks, so here you go!  I just ordered the leopard pullover, cream turtleneck sweater, plaid headband, striped bags for my gift stash and some shoes for my girl.  And, I already have similar but those chunky pearls are a STEAL!  Lots of winter clearance but also plenty of styles ready for Spring and Summer- casual, showers, weddings, vacay- it's all there. Use code GETAWAY for an extra 40% off sale styles.  TONS more included in the sale for men and kids too!

  1. Showed my husband the record player and asked if he wanted one like the picture. He said he had thought about it. Did you go through Amazon? His birthday is in June.

    1. I actually needed it in a hurry so bought locally but it’s the exact same player. He really loves it!
