BOTANICAL ARTWORK BOOKS

My botanical gallery wall has been one of the best DIY decor investments I've made over the years.  It fills a large space, and with it's classic, timeless appeal I've had it in place for over 5 years now and have never grown tired of it yet.  And, coming in with a total price of around $100, it was pretty affordable for the high impact it gives. ...

TISSUE PAPER ICE CREAM SUNDAE PARTY DECORATIONS

We recently had a ladies' event at our church that I helped decorate for, and I always like to share those events with you in case you're looking for banquet or party decorating ideas also.  I'm usually searching for ways to decorate a lot of tables for a little bit of money.  It's challenging most of the time, but with lots of help from friends and some hard work, things always turn out cute! Our theme for this event was "Sundaes on Mondays", and it was a craft night focusing on making a variety of craft projects to give to others through various ministries in and around our church.   And, a sundae bar was our treat for the evening of course, so it was pretty easy to continue that theme through to the table centerpieces.  I started with inspiration from this photo and we went from there to make these work for our event. ...

2017 SPRING HOME TOUR

Hello friends, and welcome to my 2017 Spring Home Tour!  I've been a busy bee preparing for this day and I can't wait to show you around.  Let me begin with a big thank you to Marty of A Stroll Thru Life for organizing this tour, she always sends the nicest readers my way!  If you're visiting from Decorating Delirium , I'm so glad you stopped by.  Apparently Jennifer loves color and pattern just as much as I do! Let's begin the tour today with my Entry at the front door.  I actually shared this space a few weeks ago with a new look for Spring, so here's just a little peek.  If you missed it earlier and want to see more, click over to see all of the details  and more photos, including the 3 different ways that I styled it. ...

MY SPRING BREAK PLANS...

My kids are on Spring Break this week, but they left us! Caleb is in San Francisco this week with about 40 high school students and adult leaders partnering with First Baptist Church there on some mission projects.  They are serving at a local elementary school sprucing up the playground and doing some Spring Cleaning inside the school, visiting with homeless people in the area that the church ministers to, and generally just building relationships and serving in the community to share Jesus' love. ...

MASTER BEDROOM REFRESH

MASTER BEDROOM REFRESH

It's hard for me to believe, but it's been almost 2 years since I completed my Master Bedroom makeover for the One Room Challenge .  There was a lot of work accomplished in 6 weeks, but a few of the things I did were just "for now", and I knew there were still some small changes I'd want to make in the future that didn't allow for such a rushed deadline at the time, or I hadn't found quite the right piece.  I made a few choices based on what was readily available and what I could finish quickly.  I was still very happy with the finished room, but over these few years I've been changing small things here and there, so here's the refresh as of yesterday! ...

A TREASURE HUNTING STORY AND MY WEEKEND PROJECT

About a week ago I popped into Ross looking for something unrelated, and a palm leaf outdoor chair cushion caught me eye. It's a slightly smaller scale, but matches my palm pillows and bench perfectly. Summer Home Tour ...

DIMPLE WORTHY DELIGHTS: HEAD PLANTERS

I took this photo a few days ago, planning to share it on Instagram and talk about the ginger jars, but the thought occurred to me that I needed to share about the head planter with you also. ...

MY FIVE FAVORITE THRIFTED FINDS

Thank you all for all of your nice comments on my Spring Entry tour yesterday.  I loved reading which was your favorite out of the 3 ways I styled it! Welcome to My Five Favorites today!  Pam from  Simple Details , Lisa from  Shine Your Light,  Kris from  Driven by Decor  and I are all so excited to share our favorites in a different category with you each month.  Today we're sharing our favorite thrifted finds, which includes anything found at a yard sale or thrift store, off of Craigslist, beside the curb on trash day... anything that is secondhand! I'm so excited to welcome our guest host The Makerista today.  Gwen could not be a more perfect fit for this month's theme!  She loves color and decorates with a mostly traditional flair and a slightly modern twist thrown in, and has quite the knack for incorporating the old with the new.  She is not afraid to do her own thing, and her home is packed full of her unique ideas and personality!  I love her Stories on Insta...
