THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE {2012}

I spent some time playing with a Thanksgiving tablescape over the weekend.  My theme was Rustic Glitz and Glam- yes I just made that up.

I saw some gold branches on Pinterest and knew that I wanted to use those, and everything else came together from there.

If you've been a reader for a while, you've probably seen all of these things around my house before.  The shutters were on my mantel last Fall, the feathers and basket were in my Fall decorations last year, and I used the bird nests on my Easter table for the centerpiece.  I like to try to use what I have in different ways.

The basket seemed a little plain.  If this was 5 years ago, I would have tied a bow around it and called it good.  But this time I thought a belt would be a nice twist, and a little bit of leopard never hurts anything!  One of my daughter's old belts was the perfect size.

A few night shots because I was being a geek wanna-be photographer...one word: tripod.  It's crucial.

We drink "Bubble Pop" (the kids' name for sparkling grape juice) at our special family occasions, and these are my favorite hobnail (candlewick?) glasses to use.  I'm always on the hunt for more.

We're having our Thankgiving meal at my in-laws this year, so I guess my family will have a fancy dinner tonight!

  7. Soooo pretty and very eclectic! That's my term for "different and gorgeous". :) Seriously, I would never think to use the belt and fabric like that. Bird nests are perfect for the table settings and I love the shutters. Great job!

  9. Your tablescapes are always such a treat to see, Jennifer! I love this one - the texture, the natural elements, and the pop of color. (Oh and the belt! That is so fun and unique!)
    Thanks for the inspiration - I am looking forward to "playing" with my table this weekend in preparation for Thanksgiving.

  10. Jennifer, I have the same hobnail glasses which were my grandmother's and they too will be on our Thanksgiving table. The photo of your table by candle light is stunning.

    1. Hi there! I buy my feathers at Hobby Lobby. They are in the craft section and come in a package of three. Good luck!

  12. WHAT? All that gorgeousness and it's NOT for Thanksgiving dinner? Hope you ate more than Friday night pizza on it...though the kids would probably think that's funny.

    You did a beautiful, beautiful job. Stunning. Come decorate for my Thanksgiving table? :) It's not my strong suit.

    Tripod = best friend. (Love the night shots.)

    By the way, I meant to comment on this post the other day, but I didn't have time to read the whole post (I just skimmed the first couple of pics). I immediately had this thought: Have you ever considered writing a design book (filled with photos, of course)? Jennifer, you seriously have so many wonderful, beautiful, simple yet stunning ideas (and affordable from everything I've seen!)...you need to share them more than just here. I think you'd be great. You're truly blessed with this gift. :)
