I've loved these designer pom pom baskets since I first laid eyes on them, but the designer price tag... not so much. I even spotted one in one of my favorite House Beautiful home tours that I shared with you a few weeks ago (can you find it?). I knew that it would be a simple project to replicate, but I had not seen the same style of basket. On every trip to Homegoods or TJ Maxx I searched the basket aisle hoping to find something similar. I was so surprised to stumble across the exact style as the inspiration basket at Ikea last week! Maybe they've carried this style of basket for a while, but I only get to Ikea a few times a year and never noticed it until my last trip. Hooray! The very evening we returned home from our trip I was busy making pom poms. It only takes a few minutes per pom, you can see my simple tutorial here . At first I thought I'd hot glue the poms on, but them decided to......

LONDON'S BOROUGH MARKET TOUR
I'm slowly but surely sharing snippets of a few big trips that we took- even though it's been almost a year and a half ago now- and the Borough Market in London was definitely a must-see! After spending the first part of our day touring the Tower of London, we took a short walk across the London Bridge to the Southbank of the Thames to reach the Borough Market. It is an open-air market with a delightful combination of fresh food and produce booths, as well as food stands where you can purchase ready made food for a snack or meal. This place is a foodie's dream! After a long morning of walking and touring, we couldn't choose what we wanted to eat fast enough. I wasn't brave enough to try the Wild Game or Wild Boar Pie, but the plethora of artisan breads was a different story... yum! Our friends insisted that we must try the raclette while we were there, and they didn't steer us wrong! Since I had never heard of it (which isn't say......

AND, WE'RE OFF... SPRING BREAK!
I'm taking the rest of the week off to hang out with these cuties and wrap up Spring Break. We'll be visiting Big Blue at some point (Well, I will, they'll be holed up at Dave & Buster's. Everybody's happy...) and I'll try to keep this bit of humor in mind to keep those darn carts from driving me bonkers! Gotta love Tim Hawkins... If anyone has fun suggestions of things to do with teenage kids (preferably outdoors) around Dallas, I'd love to hear them! ...

DIY OUTDOOR PLANTER IDEAS
As much as my heart wants to get some pretty Spring plants outside, my head knows that it's still a bit too early! Even though we were in the 80's yesterday, our temps are forecasted to be close to freezing at night this weekend. So, while I'm waiting for this roller coaster weather to even out, I'm spending some time plotting and planning what I want those pretty new plants to go in! These black and white striped pots are still some of my faves. They were super easy, all I needed was some tape and spray paint. Black and White Striped Pots I bought 3 of these concrete resin urns 9 years ago when we moved to this house, and added some glimmering detail with gold metallic paint. I love how it accented the scallop along the top of the pot. I'm sorry to say that 2 of these finally bit the dust (mostly due to previous hail storms), but the lone survivor is still hanging on! Gold Trimmed Urns I've rounded up some other fantastic outdoor pl......

ROMAN NOSE STATE PARK {OKLAHOMA IS OK!}
Most of you know that I live in Oklahoma, was born and raised here, and lived in the state all of my life except for the first 5 years of our married life when we lived south of the Red River (Texas!). This state is near and dear to my heart, and for a while I've wanted to start a series of sorts sharing lots of fun things to do, places to eat, and spots to shop in our great state. I'll add posts here and there and start a new tab eventually to organize them all in one spot. My hope is that if you're local, you just might find a new favorite place to visit, and that if you're not local these posts will be a good resource for anyone visiting Oklahoma. Today is the first day of our Spring Break, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to tell you about one of our favorite day trip spots, in case anyone close is looking for something to do this week! Roman Nose State Park is northwest of Oklahoma City, right at an hour and a half drive time. It's ope......
