2022 CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR | DINING ROOM AND BREAKFAST NOOK

Happy Friday, I can't believe we're just 9 days away from Christmas!  I'm so excited to share more of my Christmas home tour with you today, I hope you enjoy this peek at the Dining Room and Breakfast Nook.

I wanted my decorations to have a collected, vintage feel to them this year with some plaid in the mix too! I parted from  my super bold hot pink that I've used for the past few years and focused on more traditional red and green this year, but with a softer pink and plenty of other colors still in the mix as well.

I gathered up a variety of trees and arranged them for a centerpiece layered on a table runner and strip of wrapping paper... my favorite trick to bulk up a runner or just add some color and pattern.  And an added bonus, clean up is a breeze! You all might remember the collection of houses I thrifted a few years ago and sprayed them a variety of colors, I just pulled a few of the red ones out to use this time.

I used mercury glass candles holders for small vases and chose long lasting flowers to fill them, and the mercury glass tealight candle holders are actually little egg cups.

This centerpiece can stay put all season even when we switch out the place settings or remove them if needed.

I mentioned them when I shared my Front Porch and Entry tour, but I'm totally loving these red and rose gold pink satin table runners for big fluffy bows this year!

Can't wait to have my favorite people gathered around the table!

Let's move into the Breakfast Nook, it is an extension of the kitchen and has someone in it almost all the time.  We use this table for everything all through the day (I've had a painting project here for the past few days), so I didn't do a special place setting here, we just set places as needed for meals.

I did a simple tabletop tree for the centerpiece, embellished with mini disco balls, handmade nativity ornaments from Thailand, and plaid and polka dots!

The prints on the wall are botanicals throughout the rest of the year, but at Christmas I switch them out to 12 Days of Christmas prints and some Christmas scripture cards to fill in the extra spots.

You all have seen these over the years, but here's a little video of a time saving trick I finally got smart and figured out!

I added a few more stars to my collection this year (get ready to see even more in my Living Room tour next week!).  I've hung a wreath in this window a few times over the years but love these here so much more!

And yes... those are more satin table runners but in a different color.  This is actually 2- one for the bow and one for the longer tails that hang down.  I used a little adhesive glue dot to fold up the corner of the tails so they would look pointed instead of straight- I didn't want to cut them so that worked great.

My parents have an extensive Snow Village collection, and my Mom gave me this little house years ago.  I always love finding a spot for it.  It's flanked by one of my kid's pine cone tree Sunday School craft from years ago, those are just the best!

I just carefully threaded some ribbon through holes in the cane webbing to hang small wreaths on the chair backs.

This spot is ready for people and baking and computers and meals now too... bring it on!

  3. Jennifer, I love your style and your sweet spirit that is rooted in the reason for the season. Question: where/how do you store all your accessories? With tiny attic and no basement, I struggle to find places to store all the things I want to display seasonally.

    1. We are thankful for a huge attic and lots of storage in this house! Sorry, I don't have any great organizing tips. All of my Christmas is just stored in tubs and bags.
