BUDGET FRIENDLY (AND STYLISH!) STAPLE OUTFIT PIECES FOR FALL

Recently I ordered a few new outfit pieces from Walmart that have quickly become staple mix and match pieces for my wardrobe this Fall.  I was able to mix them with some basic pieces I already had in my closet to create several different looks, yay for lots of options so you get a bigger bang for your buck! I tried to give at least one casual and one dressier look with each piece but I honestly could have kept going with even more outfits with most of these pieces!

First up, I'm absolutely loving these plaid pant.  Blackwatch plaid has been one of my favorite, most versatile plaid patterns and while these aren't exactly the same as the traditional pattern, the colors and pattern are very similar so I know I'm going to get lots of wear out of these.

They are high waisted and mostly cotton with only 1% spandex, so they'll keep the same shape all day that they are when you put them on.  And, I love mixing this pattern with a leopard bag or shoes! A velvet blazer is yummy with these to dress them up a bit for the season, but a jean jacket would be really cute with them too.

The quilting on this jacket is such a pretty detail.  It's soft and lightweight, perfect as an extra layer when there's a chill in the air. These pants are definitely a fave- they're a cross between a legging and a jogger.  The fabric is super-soft perfection, I just added this color and a copper colored pair to the more basic colors I already had, great for Fall!

These are the same pants as above, but in a small black and white houndstooth.  Talk about limitless mix and match potential! So easy to either dress these up or down.

This is probably my favorite thing of all... a pink velvet set!  I originally just bought the blazer and loved it, and then discovered that there were matching pants (read the next paragraph to see why I was so thrilled to find those too...)!  They are both great quality and true to size, but may run just an ooch big so if you're in between I'd probably size down.  Both pieces also come in black which would be such a timeless set to have in your wardrobe.

Here's something else I love about this set...  I fell in love with these corduroy suits after seeing them in store but they are $$$ investment pieces.  I think the WM velvet set is a great "look for less" option that I'm thrilled with for about 1/4 the price!

(Side note- have you seen the new Julia Roberts/George Clooney movie "Ticket to Paradise"?  It is so cute and I adored just about everything she wore in the movie.  She wears a similar pink suit at the beginning which made me extra happy about this purchase!)

I split the pieces up and started mixing and matching even more... I also found that my favorite white button up is back in stock this year with several other colors too. It's a fabulous shirt that has the perfect fabric for a good popped collar and easy care- aka no ironing needed. 🎉

I had just bought the blazer and hadn't discovered the pants yet when I had an event to go to- here I paired the blazer with some faux leather pants and leopard booties (mine are old and about worn out, need to find some new ones!).  I'll share this event that I decorated for next week!

Lastly, I saw this sweater in the store and it immediately hopped in my cart.   There are several other really cute color and pattern options at the same link, I'd grab this one now for Valentine's Day
