DIMPLES AND TANGLES TRAVELS: GULF SHORES AND THE USS ALABAMA

This time two weeks ago we were sitting on the beach in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Little did we know that just days later Hurricane Sally would blow through, bringing devastating winds and flooding to the entire region.  Today I'm sharing our trip with you, and as I composed this post I couldn't help but keep the people affected in my prayers as they work to clean up, rebuild, and re-open hopefully soon!  We also had a special event at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, which I'll share with you in the second half of the post.  I know many of you know and love this area, so I hope these photos remind you of good times spent there, but also that some of you are friends wanting to visit the area in the future, so I hope this is a good resource for you!  ...

FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

Happy Friday, friends!  Here are a few things from around my home that I've been loving lately, and thought you might too.  Enjoy your day and weekend!   (*This post contains affiliate links, including Amazon. Earlier this Summer I scored a great new pair of lamps from Homegoods, but had no hopes of sharing them with you because many things from HG normally can't be sourced online.  But then, I was so happy to stumble across  these that are virtually identical , and for a great deal to boot (same price I paid at HG).  I like the hefty looking base (it's metal) and the ridged texture that almost resembles bamboo.  There's also a matching  floor lamp version  if you're in the market for one.   ...

DIMPLES AND TANGLES FALL DECORATING IDEAS REVIEW: PART 1

I'm just beginning to get some plans together for my Fall decorations this year, but I suspect some of you are already on the ball!  It almost slipped my mind, but a few weeks ago marked my 9 year blogging anniversary, and although I'm not sharing new decor quite yet, I realized I have quite a bit of Fall decorating ideas that I've shared over the years!  So, while you'll have to wait a few more weeks for this year's Fall Tour, today I'm sharing my favorite Fall decorating ideas from 9 years of Dimples and Tangles!  Each photo that I share has a link associated with it that will take you to that post with more information and details, and some of them that go back quite a while will show you how much things have changed around here through the years!     (*This post contains affiliate links, including Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Read my  full disclosure policy here .) Last year I actually didn't do a lot of Fall decorati...

SATURDAY SOMETHING GOOD

Hello everyone, Happy Saturday!  It's been exactly 2 years since my last "Sweet Saturday" post, and lately I've been wanting to start the series back up.  However, it has a new name!  In light of current and recent circumstances in our world, going forward with this series, I want to focus on good things I've seen around the web that have encouraged me or made me smile, and I think you'll enjoy them too.  It might be an Instagram post, home tour, DIY project, YouTube video, blog post, or something else but whatever I share will be uplifting, encouraging, heartwarming, inspiring, or motivating.  I hope you enjoy! Jewel's Sunroom Makeover is dreamy ... complete with DIY Canopy Swing Bed!  ( This post  was super interesting, too!)...

FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone! Today for my Five Friday Favorites I'm focusing solely on all of the terrific sales this holiday weekend, and there's a few more than 5.   ;)   This is such a great time of year for sales because with most sites offering discounts site wide, not only can you pick up some amazing end of season deals, but you can also score some great sales on new pieces for the upcoming season.  And... if you find some really great deals, it's not too soon to start tucking away gifts or stocking stuffers for the holidays!  Have fun shopping and enjoy your weekend.  I'm going to resurrect my Saturday series tomorrow but with a new name... Saturday Something Good!  See you then.    ...

READER TIPS: DIGITAL PHOTO ORGANIZATION AND STORAGE IDEAS

Recently I had a project that I needed a couple of specific older original photos for, and for the life of me I couldn't locate them!  I'll be the first to admit that organizing and storing my digital photos is not a strength for me, so I spent a good amount of time searching for those that I needed.  As you can imagine, I take a LOT of photos!  I've done a better job in the past few years of labeling and storing my blog photos in organized folders on my computer, but I have files and files of photos from before then that need to be dealt with and honestly I wasn't sure of the best way to go about it.  So, I asked my friends on Instagram to share their best digital photo organization and storage tips and I'm sharing those with all of you today! ...
