FALL HOME TOUR 2018- FRONT PORCH AND ENTRY

Welcome to this year's Fall Home Tour!  I'm probably the very last blogger to post a Fall tour (we've been busy and it took me a while to get inspired!), but I hope you enjoy it and get some ideas for future reference anyway.  Today I'm sharing the Front Porch and Entry- no traditional yellows and browns here! (*This post may contain affiliate links, read my full disclosure policy here.)

My ferns are usually still going strong through late Fall, and I can't bear to get rid of them yet so I just work around them.   Same with the geraniums!  The pink flowers fit in so I decided to save the money I usually spend on mums and keep them too. The weather has been so crazy this year I can't believe we still have so many things blooming.

You might remember these cute squirrels from previous years, but this year they got a new coat of pink paint (seen earlier this season here, with a few more Fall decorating ideas)!

I mentioned the painted pumpkins and this wreath in yesterday's post, I altered it a bit from it's original design and now it's a happy addition to the blue front door (color is SW Dignity Blue).

It gets dark so early in the Fall, I like adding some string lights to the porch for a softer lighting option than the regular porch light.  Love how they make the porch glow!

Moving inside the front door to the Entry-

I kept things simple with a few pumpkins that match the ones on the porch and some coxcomb stems.  I've never grown them before this year and they're my absolute new favorite!  I'm saving the seeds and planting lots more next year.

Honestly, this was my 3rd attempt with a Fall vignette on this dresser, things just weren't feeling right but I'm happy with how this arrangement turned out.

Tomorrow I'll share the rest of the tour, here's a sneak peek from the Living Room.  See you then!

  1. Jen, I know there is a distance between us (you're in Oklahoma, and I'm in a Chicago suburb), yet would love to be neighbors as I so love your style! I tried doing the plaid pumpkin painting, and yet didn't turn out right, so I painted it white and did gold dots all over! Did the same thing to another pumpkin in black! Love it and thought of you!! =)

    2. PS- We visited Chicago 18 years ago and stayed at Wheaton with a friend. I SO enjoyed riding the train into the city through all of the quaint suburbs! Would love to visit again some day.

  2. Yes I know where Wheaton is - you're overdue for another visit this way! Downtown Chicago is getting ready for the holidays and I love walking past the various storefronts especially Macy's......

  3. Everything is darling as usual. What color is your entry piece? It looks black but I think I read in a previous post that it's a dark blue. It's a great color, would you mind sharing?

    1. Nope, it's SW Tricorn Black. The lighting plays tricks with the color sometimes. Thanks for stopping by, Julie!
