SWEET SATURDAY #10

You might know that I make my kids' birthday cakes every year, and EVERY time, no matter what I offer, they want confetti cake for the cake layer.   This year for Caleb's birthday, I used this cupcake recipe to bulk up the box mix a little bit.  They were a hit!


Martha Stewart's site rounded up the Top 10 Home Trends for 2017.  What do you think?  I feel like if you're a blog follower, several of these trends have already been going strong for a few years.

 We spent a little bit of time at the mall this week, and while I was actually killing time waiting for Ray I browsed the shoe section, and fell hard for these velvet sneakers!  They are SO pretty, and the blush is actually my favorite.  It's a little more pink-y in person, and those satin ribbon laces are just the cherry on top.  There's a  slip on version that's pretty cute, too!



Lastly, I'm sprucing up a few spots around the house with some new accessories, getting ready to share with you on Monday.



Speaking of new accessories, a friend rushed up to me a few weeks ago at church and said "You HAVE to get this bag!"  That's the problem with writing a blog, too many people know what you like.  ;)  She was right, I couldn't resist (and I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket).  It is gorgeous!  It is large (about the same size as my Michael Kors Hamilton tote if you're familiar with that bag for comparison) and comes with a detachable long strap to wear over your shoulder or cross body.  There are also 3 different styles with this same fabric design if you want something a little smaller, and they're all on major sale!
