D&T INSTAPEEK

Hey you all!  As much as I love posting and following friends on Instagram, I realize that many of you don't use it.  Or, even if you're on IG, you might miss posts when IG is deciding what will show up in your feed (boo-I know I miss lots of posts this way too!).  So, I thought I'd give you a peek of what goes up over on my Instagram feed here on the blog occasionally.  Today, here's the highlight reel of our summer...

I'm still dreaming of all of these lovely hydrangeas that my sister let me clip from her bushes for my Summer Home Tour.

It's a common occurrence around here- one wants in, one wants out!

I finally got my hands on a fox tail fern this year.  I was totally amazed at some of the new shoots, they went a little haywire!

My daughter attended a basketball camp at a local university.  The parents are invited to come on the last day and watch some mostly friendly competition.  We enjoyed watching as our girl was named the champion in 2 categories (beating out all of the boys in her age group too!), "Gotcha" and Freethrows!  She got a kick out of wearing a different Oklahoma Baptist University t-shirt every day to camp (our Alma Mater) since this was at a "rival" school, and they got a kick out of giving her a hard time about it!

*Just a side note here for local OKC friends...  we're excited about a new basketball facility opening in town, Solid Rock Basketball.  A friend that I grew up going to church with is opening this brand new gym, and they are organizing a variety of leagues and skills training sessions.  Sign-up is open through the first week of September or so, if you're looking for something to keep your kids active while focusing on skills as well as character development, check it out!  Em is looking forward to playing in a league with them this Fall before school basketball starts later this year.

My son got his driver's permit this summer.  We're working on those 50 hours of supervised driving, with only occasional moments of panic mixed in!  Not really, he's doing a pretty good job.  ;)

I mentioned in this post that I was headed to meet up with one of my long-time and most favorite blog friends, face to face!  I ate up every second that I spent with Pam, loved touring her adorable home (even better in real life than the amazing photos!), we chatted non-stop, and even got to hit up Homegoods together!

We spent a week in our happy place- Red River, New Mexico.  I'll be posting about this fun little mountain ski town this week.

It's residents are very friendly...

While on vacation, we visited one of our favorite thrift stores in town and I bought 6 of these bamboo purse handles.  I'm not sure what I'm going to use them for yet, but for $1.50 I couldn't pass them up! (Thoughts of DIY towel rings are swirling in my brain.)

A sweet neighbor dropped off a carton of fresh eggs for us a few weeks ago.  I'm ashamed to admit this, but I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I've had fresh eggs in my life.  #citygirl  I almost hated to use them they were so pretty, but they sure did make a good breakfast casserole and Bacon and Cheese Quiche!

Have you seen Stranger Things on Netflix?  As usual, we were late to jump on the bandwagon.  However, once we started it, we had to make ourselves only watch an episode or two at a time and not binge watch the entire thing. We always enjoyed The X-Files back in the day and this had the same type of feel- a good mix of scary, weird, and sci-fi.  Judge for yourself, but this is probably for mature audiences- I personally wouldn't let my teen kids watch without screening (fast forwarding) through parts.

Thursday was our last day of summer, so we spent some time floating on the river.  My kind of entertainment... beautiful, free, and there's even a good arm workout thrown in!

Then, the first day of school was Friday (I know... crazy start day, right??).  These two are ready for a fantastic 10th and 8th grade year!

Over the weekend I spent some time in At Home shopping for my next Inspiration Team post, and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this new display...  Not gonna lie- all weekend I've kinda been thinking how amazing that table would look in my dining room!

Finally, I received a special delivery in the mail last week.  I am honored to have been selected as a Better Homes and Gardens 2016 Stylemaker!  I'll be attending the Stylemaker Workshop in NYC in September, and am excited to learn from some of the best editors and stylists in the publishing business while there.  I gathered up some of my favorite things to celebrate the announcement on IG.

I hope you enjoyed these little snaps of life that don't make it to the blog!
