2016 SUMMER HOME TOURS: MY INTERIOR SUMMER TOUR

Summer home tours are in the air, and all over blog land this week!  If you're visiting from Hymns and Verses, welcome and thanks for coming over.  For all of my regular readers, I'm glad you're here too.  Many thanks to our sweet hostess Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for organizing the 2016 Summer Home Tours this week... quite the feat!

If you're a new reader, let me take a moment to introduce myself.  I'm a wife and mom of two teens, a boy and a girl, living in Edmond, Oklahoma (I'm a proud born and raised Okie!).  My husband is a Southern Baptist Minister, and although I have a degree in Education and taught 3rd grade in the early years of our marriage, the Lord has blessed us and I've been able to stay home with our children since then.  I've always had a love for decorating and started blogging about our home almost 5 years ago at my husband's encouragement, amazed that anyone would have any interest in the little projects that I was doing.  These years have passed in a flash and I can't believe the opportunities, and more importantly, friendships that have been a result of this blog.  So, thanks for reading!

On Monday I shared our outdoor living space, and today I'm excited to share the inside of our home with you.  Honestly, I didn't do anything new or go all out for this tour, I just kept things super simple.  Isn't that what Summer is supposed to be all about?

We'll start with the entry.  My sweet sister let me go to town on her hydrangea bushes, and what I cut didn't even make a dent!  So, you'll see them scattered all over the house in my tour today.

The Dining Room is adjacent to the Entry.  The pile of blue and white pieces that I used in the Entry for my Spring Home Tour migrated over to the Dining Room for Summer.

Moving on to the Living Room-

I recently did a quick and easy DIY to beef up an abstract canvas that I had, this colorful little corner is my favorite spot in the room.

Head Planter (old from Homegoods) - similar here and here

Nothing super special in the kitchen other than the fact that the counters are clean, and that needed to be documented!  ;)

My new instagram friend and fellow Okie @curlsandcashmere had a pretty brass pedestal bowl filled with orchids on her counter, and I thought "I can do that too!"

I set a super simple table in the Breakfast Nook.  I'm in love with black and white gingham, it works for every season.

Similar White Plates  ||  Woven Placemats- Ikea (similar)  ||  Bordallo Plate- here and here

A few more spaces in our home, follow the link under each photo for more details.

Now, head over to Our Southern Home for the next stop on today's tour.  Thank you so much for visiting today!  And finally, if you're new here and enjoyed the tour, I'd love for you to subscribe to my blog or follow me on your social media of choice. (Instagram is my fave and I share lots there that never makes it to the blog.)

If you've missed out on any of the tours this week, here's your chance to catch up.  More tours are coming for the rest of the week, too!
