A FEW OF MY FAVORITES, ON SALE!

Hey y'all!  I hadn't planned a post today, but one of my favorite sites is having a store-wide sale, so I wanted to pop in and let you know about it before it's over!

Without question, this is my favorite little clutch to carry.  It mixes and matches beautifully with lots of patterns, or dresses up a solid t-shirt and jean combo in a flash!  Several colors available.

Pom Pom Clutch (25% off with code "celebrate" at checkout)

This tassel has been getting lots of screen time in my photos lately, I think I need a match now that it's on sale!  It comes in 2 other colors, too, if pink isn't your thing.

Pink Tassel Charm (25% off with code "celebrate" at checkout)

I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago... pattern on pattern + color = LOVE!  The agate necklace is another favorite that's included in the sale.  Also, I've had these green pants for years and they're so fun to wear especially at Christmas and in the Spring.  I've found a very similar pair to share with you, and they're more than 1/2 off right now (on sale + an extra 40% off at checkout!).  Lastly, another great staple in this photo is the striped popover top, and it's on sale too.  I've worn it so much and it's great to tuck in, leave out, dress up, or dress down!

Here are the necklace and pinstripe shirt again when I visited my sweet friend Pam-

Remember, Mother's Day is just around the corner, and there are SO many good things to choose from included in this sale!  Here's a few more of my favorites-

The straw pom pom clutch is so fun and versatile for summer, and I'm loving the twist on a leopard clutch with the black and white dalmatian spot.

I already own the leopard cuff and tassel wood bead bracelets below, love them and wear them often.  I think the multi tassel bracelet needs to go in my cart, too!

I also own the turquoise bead tassel necklace (just wore it on Sunday for Easter) and a very similar ox bone wood bead necklace that goes with everything!

I'm not sure how long the sale will last, so if you have your eye on something, don't delay!

PRETTY PINK AND GREEN EASTER TABLE

A few weeks ago I posted a photo of one of my Easter tables from years past on Instagram, saying that I hadn't come up with a plan for this year's table yet.  One of my followers said that she'd like to see my take on pastels.  My first thought was "I don't do pastels", but the thought stuck in my mind.  So, although there is still some punchy color, I guess this is as close as I get to doing pastels!

I browsed the Dollar Spot at Target last week and found a pack of hot pink honeycomb balls (in the $3 section).  My sister reminded me that she still had some left from her wedding, and inspiration struck for this year's table.  I've been a fan of paper party decorations for Christmas (see here and here), so I thought it would be fun to use them in a tablescape too. My DIY candelabra anchors the center of the table, and I used the honeycomb balls as a makeshift runner.  I couldn't resist adding a few mirrored balls in there, too, for a bit of sparkle.

I had planned to use some cute green straw bunnies that I've had for years in the center of each place setting, but when I dug them out some were missing and they were not in great shape.  So, I improvised and pulled out a small tub of cotton candy that I was going to give to the kids on Easter (oops) and split it up into small bowls.  You can't leave cotton candy out for long, though, or it starts to disintegrate and get hard. #lessonlearned  Oh well, my son actually likes it best that way and didn't have any trouble polishing off a bowl full after I finished with the photos.

Lowe's has the small pint containers of geraniums for $1 each this week, so I picked up several and used 4 in each milk glass container flanking the candelabra rather than cut flowers.  After Easter I can add them to some of my outdoor pots.

I picked up some gingham fabric from Hobby Lobby and made my napkins, finishing them off with my monogram.

The pie is ready in the freezer, the table is set, and we're ready for a house full of family on Sunday!

And even though our day will be full of church and family and fun and games, I pray our hearts are prepared to celebrate the true meaning of the day...  JESUS IS RISEN, and He knows YOU and loves YOU!!  If you don't have the privilege of having a personal relationship with Him, I'd love to share more about that with you!

PINK LEMONADE PIE RECIPE

I could have titled this "The Best Spring Dessert Ever" or "Tasty Easter Dessert" or "The Easiest Dessert Ever", because it's all of those things!  Actually, around our house, Pink Lemonade Pie is my husband's favorite dessert so we have it year round for holidays, his birthday, or as a quick dessert to make a week night just a bit more special.  I learned to make it from his Mom shortly after we got married, and have been making it for almost 23 years ever since!

easy dessert recipe, icebox pie, pink lemonade pie

This is so easy it doesn't even need an explanation, but I snapped a few pictures during the process anyway.  If you can dump and stir, you've got yourself a scrumptious dessert that everyone will love.

Ingredients:

1 ready made 9" graham cracker pie crust
1 8 oz. tub Extra Creamy Cool Whip
1 12 oz. can frozen pink lemonade concentrate (only 6 oz. needed)
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
red food coloring (optional)

A few notes about the ingredients... you can use regular Cool Whip, but the Extra Creamy helps the pie set up better.   Only use 1/2 of the can of lemonade (or just a splash extra for a bit more tang).  If you can find a 6 oz. can, great!  I just never see that size in the store anymore.  My kids are always happy to drink the leftovers when I mix it up.  If you want your pie to really appear pink, you'll need to add a few drops of red food coloring, but that is totally optional.

Pour all ingredients into a mixing bowl, and stir with a whisk until well combined.

Pour mixture into pie crust.

Spread filling and smooth out top.

Replace lid and chill for a few hours or overnight.  Pie can be chilled in the freezer or refrigerator, but I usually put it in the freezer.  It really firms up well but can still be easily sliced when ready to serve.

If you're planning your Easter menu for this weekend, this would be a great addition to your dessert selection!  It can be made several days in advance and be ready and waiting for your gathering.

I'm curious, is this one of your family's favorites, too?  Or do you make a different version of this icebox pie that's yummy?

I'll be back tomorrow to share my Easter Table with you (edited- see it here!).  Spoiler Alert: You'll be seeing this cute pink gingham again!

IF YOU MISSED IT {JANUARY-MARCH}

At the end of last year I shared our Best of 2016 post, so I skipped wrapping up the year with a monthly review.  Now, the first 3 months of 2017 have gone by in a flash so I thought I'd take the opportunity to catch you up on the highlights if there's anything you've missed.

I live in Oklahoma City, so my husband and I took a little day trip and shared a tour of the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile with you.  It was so fun to see this gorgeous building in person!

I found a vintage crystal chandelier and we installed it in the Dining Room.  I took the opportunity to also share a current complete source list for the room.

We love our little furry family members, but not so much when they scratch on the furniture. I showed you my super easy and quick trick for how to fix snags and pulls in upholstery fabric.

I found some sources for a few of my favorite things in my house and shared how you can get a similar look.

My blog pals and I are loving our My Five Favorites monthly series and hope you are too!  Here are the themes we've done this year so far.

On a personal note, my son turned 16 in January, and we had a blast celebrating him.  We're so proud of the phenomenal young man he is becoming!

Spring has sprung in our home!  I did a mini-makeover in the Entry with a new rug and styled the space three different ways, and later shared a more complete Spring Tour.

You all seemed to really enjoy this post where I shared some pages from a classic Southern Living book that I purchased at an estate sale.  It amazed me how many of the designs would still be current today even though the book is almost 30 years old.

We had a ladies event at our church a few weeks ago, and I showed you these simple ice cream sundae party decorations that we used for the centerpieces.  They would be so cute for an ice cream party theme, too!

Sometimes when there is no budget or time for a big makeover, freshening up a space with a few new accessories can do the trick!

Lastly, after "finishing" the room almost 2 years ago, I made a few tweaks for a Master Bedroom Refresh.  I *think* this room is finally where I want it to be!  :)
