Wishing each and every one of you a blessed Christmas and holiday season, filled with comfort and His peace!  I rest in that thought daily, knowing that no matter what, while we celebrate the baby Jesus born in a manger, He is now on His throne and in control of even the smallest details of our lives.

I thought I'd take the opportunity to share a few family photos we had taken a couple of weeks ago.  For the record, it was about 35 degrees, so if our hands look a little clenched and faces frozen... they were!  :)  How perfect will this fun graffiti wall backdrop be framed in my house?  We always do casual photos, so I wanted some with us all dressed up this time, and I love the contrast of the graffiti and our Sunday best.

Thank you all for continuing to read post after post.  Each time I wonder if this is worth all of the time and effort spent, I receive the sweetest encouraging comment at just the right time to keep me going.  You all are completely the reason I continue to share here, and I'm truly grateful for your faithful support and encouragement!  Merry Christmas, sweet friends.  I'll see you in 2017!

But the angel said to them "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all people, for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."  Luke 2:10-11

P.S. If you're local to OKC and don't have a church home, we'd love to have you join us for our Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning services!  Service times and details here.

Hello friends!  I'm sure everyone is busy Christmas-ing this week, but I wanted to pop in and share one of our all time favorite party food/appetizer recipes with you, Cream Cheese Sausage Dip.  It could not be easier, and I promise your guests will literally eat it up!

recipe, appetizer, cheese dip

Here's all you'll need:

1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked, crumbled, and drained
3 8 oz. packages cream cheese
1 can Rotel tomatoes and green chiles
water if desired

Simply mix all ingredients in a crockpot or double boiler and heat until the cheese is melted, stirring occasionally.  A bit of water can be added after cheese is melted to thin it a little if you think it's too thick. Just add water, stir, and eye it until it's the consistency you want.

Serve with tortilla chips and watch it disappear!  It's a nice little switch up from the usual Velveeta and Rotel cheese dip.

We hosted all of the ministers at our church for a party on Sunday night, and I was repeatedly asked for the recipe- everyone loved it.  As a reference, I tripled the recipe and it filled my 4 quart crockpot.  We served around 30 people and just had a little bit left over.  We'll have a large family party on Christmas Eve where I plan to serve this as well.  It's a great go-to recipe to have on hand!

Here's a few of my other favorite party recipes if you're feeding a crowd this week (we apparently go through just a bit of cream cheese around here!)-

Today I'm sharing my final Christmas Tour with you, our Master Bedroom.  Can it just be our little secret that I didn't share it as part of another tour because I didn't have it ready yet?  ;)

For the most part, my Christmas decorating in this room consists of adding a few festive accessories and a pillow swap... that's it!  It's nice that the green headboard fits right in for the season.  The red pillows are borrowed from my son's room, the greek key pillows float around the house, and I got the plaid pillow a few years ago at Homegoods, but saw it again this year at Marshall's.

I added some ornaments to our juju hat temporarily by threading a piece of pipe cleaner through them, then gently inserting that "stem" through the feathers (like you would add a flower pick).  It's not secured or anything from the back, the pipe cleaner just gives enough length and "grab" for the ornament to stay in place.

You might have noticed in our Living Room Tour that I moved the chairs from our bedroom in to flank the tree.  So... we played musical furniture and everything that got moved out from the Living Room got moved in to our bedroom!  The leather chairs are bigger than the wingbacks in this spot so it's a little crowded, but it's fine for a few weeks.

This is also the landing spot for other larger accessories that I'm not using in other rooms at the moment...

a few ornaments mixed in the moss of the orchids add some subtle Christmas cheer.

The succulent bowls from the patio mantel found new homes inside the house during freezing temps, and everything standing still got a bow tied around it this year!  These replica Staffordshire pups were a happy find at a local antique mall.

Early in the new year I'll be working on a few small changes, and if you have a sharp eye you might have spotted that I switched out the mirrors over the nightstands.  It's the best story...  I found one bamboo mirror for a steal on Craigslist, and really wanted a pair so I could use them here.  I posted what I was looking for on our local Facebook garage sale sites, and after about a month someone contacted me that they had one for me to buy!  Yippee!

So, with just a few simple touches here and there, our room is ready for the season!  More details, sources, and photos of how the room usually looks can be found here.

I find it so hard to believe that we're only 11 days away from Christmas!  While I'm not finished shopping, I have my game plan ready and Ray and I will get that knocked out on Friday.  For me, many times the stockings are the toughest part to get finished up!  In both of our extended families, we do stockings for everyone with around a $5 limit per person.  So today, I thought I'd share some of my favorite inexpensive stocking stuffers with you, some that are my favorite to give and some that are my favorite to receive.  Sorry, mostly women's and kids' ideas here... the guys are always hard for me!  They usually get Starbucks or their favorite fast food gift cards in their stockings.  Most of these can be picked up at the grocery store or drug store, but I'm including some sources if you want to order online, there's still time if you hurry!

Neutrogena Hand Cream- coming in at less than $5, this is my favorite hand cream to use every night at bedtime.  It's super thick and works wonders on dry, chapped hands this time of year.

Burts Bees Lip Balm- My favorite lip balm- I keep it in my makeup drawer, kitchen drawer, purse... use it all the time.  The original which has a touch of peppermint is my favorite flavor, but I like the ones with just a hint of color too.

Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea- My Mom got me hooked on this tea.  She likes it hot, I like it iced.

Bath and Body Works Concentrated Room Spray- a friend introduced me to these concentrated little bottles years and years ago.  They all smell so good, one squirt is enough for the whole room, and the scent lingers for a long while after it's sprayed.

Original Artwork Printable- This gorgeous downloadable 11x14 original print (as well as other similar ones in her shop) is the perfect gift... the recipient can pop it in a frame and it's ready to hang!

Metallic Kitchen Sponges- A sweet friend recently gave me a gold sparkly kitchen sponge, just because she saw it and thought of me and knew I'd like it (Thank you, D!).  Well, I love it, and how fun to receive something cute that makes doing a daily chore a little more fun!

Regular or Electric Kid's Toothbrush- a staple every year in my kids' stockings!  (Aren't I a fun Mom?)  ;)

Lego Man Soap-  OK, make up for the toothbrush with this one!  I mean, it's a must for any Lego lover, young or old.  This shop also has lots of fun other super hero, Mickey Mouse, Star Wars, and pop culture soap designs.

Texture Spray Wax- A new favorite hair product that my youngest sister introduced me to.  It takes the place of hair spray and really locks your style in place.  A little goes a long way!

Sally Hansen Gel Manicure Topcoat-  When I DO paint my nails, which isn't often, I've been using this top coat for a few years now.  I use whatever color coat I want, then use this clear coat on top.  I think it really does make my manicure last longer than it would with other top coats in the past.

Playing Cards- We play so many card games with our kids, it's always nice to have a new deck!

OK, I'm still finishing up my list, so I'm dying to know what some of YOUR favorite inexpensive stocking stuffers are, too... let me know in the comments.

See you tomorrow with my last Christmas Tour of the season!

Today I am thrilled and honored to be a part of the Deck the Halls Christmas Home Tour, hosted by the incredibly talented ladies of Decor Gold Designs and Randi Garret Design.  If you found your way here via Randi Garrett Design, can I just tell you how glad I am that you're here?  Randi's exquisite style is such an inspiration to me, and after meeting her in person last summer, I admire her even more!

If you're a new reader, let me take a moment to introduce myself.  I'm a wife and mom of two teens, a boy and a girl, living in Edmond, Oklahoma (I'm a proud born and raised Okie!).  My husband is a Southern Baptist Minister, and although I have a degree in Education and taught 3rd grade in the early years of our marriage, since having children I have stayed home with them.  I've always had a love for decorating and started blogging about our home 5 years ago at my husband's encouragement, amazed that anyone would have any interest in the little projects that I was doing.  We're approaching 10 years of living in this house, and we've been working on one project or another all along the way.  You can catch my full home tour here.

Today I'm sharing our Front Porch and Entry with you.   You'll quickly see that while my colleagues in this tour do neutrals beautifully, I'm just a bit crazy about color!

Years ago (pre-Pinterest!) I tore out a page from a Pottery Barn catalog that had large ornaments hanging from the porch ceiling.  I incorporated that idea by hanging a few ornaments acoss a beam on my porch (shatterproof- just in case).  This year I added a few more stars along with the ornaments, too (I'll take the stars down when the weather gets nasty, everything else is fine in the elements).

I've come across two old sleds at garage sales over the years, and while they're the perfect porch decor, my son is really hoping for enough snow soon to try one out!

I've never been completely pleased with a round wreath on our door since it has an oval shaped window, so I shamelessly copied this simple, darling fresh greenery swag idea from my friend Kris.  I already had the bells (TJ Maxx), so it was basically a free project!

Moving inside, let's take a peek at our Entry.  I painted the french doors black years ago and have never been sorry.  The dresser is a painted Craigslist find, as well as the large mirror.  I love to collect pieces here and there and throw everything together that I like, hoping that it all lives happily together.

Toile Tote || Green Paint and How to Paint Ceramics || Brass Deer- vintage

Dresser and Door Color- SW Tricorn Black || Striped Rug

These party decorations added in for Christmas make me happy... since Christmas is the biggest Birthday Party of all!  The cords to the stars are looped over and hang down the back of the mirror, and everything else is attached with a simple piece of masking tape on the back.

Stars and Green Honeycomb balls- old Ikea || Round Paper Fans- Hobby Lobby

Thank you SO much for stopping by my home today!  Last week I shared more of my Christmas home with you, I'd love for you to stop by if you missed it.
