HOW TO MAKE TISSUE PAPER FLOWERS {2 WAYS}

I am well aware that girls have probably been making tissue paper flowers since the invention of tissue paper, and that this type of tutorial is not original, but I figured if it's been a while since you've made one, you might need a refresher!  Recently, with some gals from my church, we made a BUNCH of flowers for a women's, so I thought I'd share the process with you in case you have an event you might want to make some for, too. First, I'll show you how to make large, full, puffy flowers.  You will need 6 total sheets of tissue paper per flower, (4) 20x30" sheets and (2) smaller sheets, approximately 20x20.  I found the best deal on the larger sheets online here  (affiliate link).  We were making around 75 large flowers, so I ordered a variety of the colors I wanted in the "quire" amount (24 sheets per pack). For the smaller size, Dollar Tree had pretty multi-colored pastel packs that I used.  I also bought some packs of plain white from ......

FRIDAY FAVORITES: FASHION FINDS

It's Friday...it's the last day of school for us...the weather is beautiful... what could be better?  How about some cute clothes???  ;)  I honestly don't shop for clothes very often, but when I do I buy several things at once.  I found some great pieces lately that are pretty classic and versatile and wanted to share them with you.  Several are from H&M.  We finally got a store in one of our local malls, and last week was really the first time I've spent a good amount of time in there.  I found some winners and I think I'm hooked!  Now if they would just add a home section to our store... I bought this dress the other day (actually 2, they had it in navy too), and I can already tell it will be a favorite throw-on-and-go dress.  The sleeves are long, but the fabric isn't too thick to wear through the summer (at least for me, I'm usually chilly).  It's loose and roomy, but I would say not quite as full as some other swing dresses I......

DIY FLOATING ACRYLIC FRAME TUTORIAL

The pair of floating acrylic frames is one of my favorite parts of our new Powder Bath - that probably has nothing to do with the fact that the photos are of my growing way too fast kids.  ;)  All along, I knew I wanted to keep the artwork in there simple, and wanted something mainly green to go with the black and white color palette.  I considered something like the palm prints that I talked about here , but in the end wanted something a little more personal.  I envisioned some photos with the kids in the lush green creek area outside our backyard.  And, while I thought that formal portraits of my kids might be a little TOO personal when guests are visiting the potty, my sis brainstormed with me and we thought some whimsical photography art would be fun and a little more appropriate for the room. So, they humored me (it was Mother's Day, they had no choice), and wore the clothes I requested and posed how I asked and we snapped a few photos.  The id......

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE HIGHLIGHTS

I am completely overwhelmed by the love you all poured out for our One Room Challenge  Powder Bath Reveal !  You guys blew me away with your comments, likes, pins, texts, and encouragement about the project.  Thank you so much, it was such a highlight after a long 5 weeks of hard work!  I'll have a few more posts and tutorials about the room coming up in the next few weeks. It's unbelievable that along with the 20 featured designers , well over 200 other bloggers participated in this challenge as well.  This challenge is hands down the best motivation to get a room done in a short amount of time!  I spent some time over the weekend looking through all of the rooms, and thought I'd share a few with you that spoke to me for one reason or another. Please click on the link in description to go to the original source and pin from there (it matters!). Claire redesigned her parents' living room, and I feel like I'm staring at the pages of a fancy design ma......

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE POWDER BATH REVEAL!

Hello there, friends!  I'm so glad you've stopped by today, and I've been so excited to share this room with my readers!  If you're new here today visiting all of the wonderful One Room Challenge Room Reveals, welcome!  I'm honored to have you here. Many thanks go to the creator of this challenge, encouraging us all along the way, Linda from Calling It Home .  It's such a great opportunity to accomplish a complete makeover in 6 short weeks, or at least get further along than you were when you started. This day arrived quickly, and it was a total sprint to the finish line!  I've worked the past 5 weeks to make over my Powder Bath.  What started as what I thought would be a fairly quick and easy makeover turned into a mountain of a project (and it didn't help that one of the major design elements changed somewhere around the end of week 4). Let's step back and revisit the room 6 weeks ago... dark, dated, and boring, and completely out of plac......
