2023 CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR || DINING ROOM

Hello friends, welcome in to my Christmas Dining Room today!  I'm excited to share Part 2 of my Christmas home with you, click here for Part 1 and Part 3 if you missed them.  I still have quite a variety of colors, but this year I'm highlighting pink and green in a few spaces more prominently, but red is still strong in the mix as an accent color too.  We'll get to the table in a moment, but if you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that a little white back I snagged a pair of the elusive giant nutcrackers that flew off the shelves (after searching availability in neighboring towns where I could do a pick up then a morning road trip to round them up!). I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them at the time but knew they would find a home.

And they did!  I love them in this spot flanking the china cabinet.  I didn't worry about any of the artwork behind them, just set them in front of what was there.  I've seen several shared that have been painted and they are incredible (like these, these, and these).  I knew I wouldn't have time to do that for this Christmas season but think I'll make it a summer project, so expect to see them looking entirely different next year!  I did however dress them up with a gingham bow of course and more of my DIY makeover Christmas bell ornaments tied on.

I loaded the china cabinet with my Spode Christmas plates as usual, I just pull them out when we want to use them for a meal.

I always love adding ornaments to the chandelier too, just tied on some faves with ribbon.

Now, let's take a closer look at the tablescape!

The "runner" is a mix of wrapping paper (green) and fabric (pink).  The paper was from Hobby Lobby this year and I bought the fabric from a warehouse in North Carolina a few years ago when we were there.  I'm planning to make some pillows out of it but in the mean time it landed here!  It's Waverly "Shoji" but has been discontinued I believe.  (Found a piece available here!)

As I often do, I used by Bordallo Pinheiro green chargers for a base, then thrifted vintage pink plates and Spode Christmas salad plates.  The napkins are $.99 bandanas from Hobby Lobby that I monogrammed.

I love using Pink Poinsettias at Christmas.  Last year I bought white instead and I was sorry- ha!  I get them early in the season and don't have to worry about replacing fresh flowers every week or two.

These little deer are so cute, I have a few on my mantel and extras to spread around in other places.  The green ball is a little brighter in photo than real life and you can't tell that is actually an old fashioned spun satin ornament, remember those?  I found a box at a thrift shop while were were on vacation earlier this year.

These small Christmas houses are ornaments,  I remove the hanging loop and usually the hook as well but looks like I missed this one, oops!  The pom pom trees as well as the glass trees and vintage style finials were at Hobby Lobby several years ago- wish they still carried all of those in their Christmas lines!

(My houses appear to be out of stock but here are a few, they've had these for several years so check early next year if you're looking for some!)

I bought several new boxes of Shiny Brite ornaments after Christmas last year and have some of the smaller ones scattered along the centerpiece, as well as a variety of sizes of mirrored balls to add more sparkle.

These jumbo present confetti ornaments were new this year, you might remember the round ones I've used in the past that are so fun (similar still available here).  They have a hanging loop but I removed that and think they are cute as part of the centerpiece.  I like how they kind of blend in but then are a little surprise when you notice them and look closer.

I broke one of my tall Mikasa gold rim flutes when I was setting the table and they're discontinued...  😢 need to hunt for a replacement which might be hopeless!

I've hosted two parties in the past week and several in the group were seated here,  I just keep washing the dishes and resetting the table.  I'm loving having this table all set and festive!

I hope you enjoyed the Dining Room tour, next up will be the Christmas Tree and Living Room!
