BACK TO COLLEGE: BEDROOM ESSENTIALS FOR STUDENTS

This post is sponsored by Walmart.

I hope you enjoyed the look at my daughter's desk and study corner in her college apartment the other day, today I'm sharing the other side of the room with you (her favorite part)... her bed!  We picked up several college bedroom essentials in the latest styles and trends all at low prices from Walmart.

If you've had a college student you'd probably agree with me that after one year of college living a little bedding refresh might be in order before they head back to college for a new year.  I've had several friends who had to round up entirely new bedding when the size of the bed was different than what their student had the previous year.  Although her bed was the same size as last year so we didn't have that issue, she was excited to start a new year back to college in a new room with a new comforter and sheet set.

My girl preferred a more neutral color palette for her room (shocking, right?!?😆) but we still kept things interesting with a good mix of patterns and textures.  I totally fell for this gray pinstripe comforter set and was glad that she liked it too, it's fluffy and soft and I knew it would be a good mix in her room.  The super affordable soft gray leopard sheets were fun to add in as well and the blush quilted shams added the perfect little pop of color.  This Better Homes & Gardens arch pillow is a winner, if I didn't know better I would think it was much more expensive than it's under $20 price tag!

Everyone loves these super soft and cozy throws (that are lightweight but warm and easy to store and throw in the washer, too!), the pom pom trim adds the perfect detail to the edges.

I saw this lighted marquee sign last minute on the website and picked it up curbside, so fun! It has a remote, a full alphabet with numbers and emojis, runs on a USB cord or batteries, and displays a wide range of modes and colors that flash or glow steady.  The little stick lamp has a USB port in the base, so it's perfect to plug in things like the marquee light or the curtain lights and makes a nice bedside lamp.

(Just a hint, there were only 2 "E"s in the letter set, so I got creative with an F and a black Sharpie to make the third E that I needed.)

Alright, I've done my part to ensure a good night's rest, now I hope she keeps to a good sleep schedule so she's able to do her best in classes each day!  Wishful thinking that she gets her 8 hours, I'm sure.... ha!

  1. As a mom of a new college student, thank you so much for this great content! I also really loved your graduation gift ideas, and while I follow and love a lot of blogs, I’ve noticed that very few have content for parents of older teens and college students! So thank you so much for filling this void, and I think you have such a great eye! I was wondering if you would consider doing a post for ideas of what to wear to fall college football games? I’ll be headed to a few SEC games this fall and I never know what to wear because of all the different factors, such as comfort for the long days, layers for changing temps throughout the day, etc. Thanks so much!!
