SWEET SATURDAY #9

Did you follow along with all of the Christmas Tours this week?  I still have some catching up to do (too busy scrambling to finish up my own tours!), but there were some really festive homes in blogland!  Check out all of the homes with Blogger Stylin' Home Tours here,

Last week a group of ladies met to get our church all decorated for Christmas.  I grabbed the quickest outfit I could find that was comfortable yet presentable, because I know from experience there's always a lot of bending and climbing and reaching involved... it's a lot of work to spread that Christmas spirit!  Our darling, chic pastor's wife asked me about my outfit and said I needed to blog about it,  ;)  so here it is!  Nothing special, but I truly felt like I was wearing pjs yet looked totally pulled together.  The plaid shirt is a relaxed, "boyfriend" fit, so it was long enough to wear with leggings (I always get a tall because my arms are long, so that helped with the length, but I think even the regular would be long enough to cover your bum).  The sweater added even more coverage (I don't like too much to show when I wear leggings-hence the long sweater and tall boots) and warmth on a cold day.  One thing to consider, this shirt comes in two different styles of the same pattern.  One is flannel in a traditional button-up fit, and the one I got is cotton in a really loose, relaxed fit.  Just wanted to avoid any confusion if you're on the site looking.  And one more thing, these leggings are my favorite, really the only ones I wear.  I have two pairs that are identical I love them so much! They're a little pricey if they're not on sale, but completely worth it.  The wide waistband makes them super comfortable and the fabric is nice and thick.  I've had mine for several years now and they haven't faded or lost their shape.

And, I've had an eye out for a good velvet blazer for a few years but haven't found one for the right price.  I stumbled across this one and it's on it's way to me,  so I'll let you know what I think!  Most sizes are still available in this rich Pine Green, but there's only a few black ones left (I actually ordered both colors to try). There's also a really pretty plum colored one available for plus sizes.

Are you baking this weekend?  My Mom's Chocolate Bon Bons are probably my all time favorite Christmas treat, just make sure you have plenty of butter and sugar if you plan to make them!  ;)

Recently my son read Same Kind of Different as Me with his class at school.  I read it years ago, but took the opportunity to read it again.  It's a great book, and if you missed the craze when it came out, I highly recommend it.  Read it now and you'll be ready to go see the movie that's coming out early next year, because it's always best to read the book first, right?

I always love to see different ways to tie a scarf.  This video tutorial shows 9 different ways, including some ideas for those big, bulkier blanket scarves.

Speaking of big blanket scarves, Emily had a great tutorial here too.  I wore a blanket scarf to church like this a few Sundays ago and it stayed put nicely all morning!
