D&T BIRTHDAY BASH WEEK {GIVEAWAY #5}

I'm not sure if you knew this, but great things come from Oklahoma!

Our sunsets rival any other...

Sure, we can claim our share of famous people - Will Rogers, Gene Autry, Ron Howard, Shannon Lucid, Mickey Mantle, Shannon Miller, Brad Pitt, and we definitely have country music covered...Carrie Underwood (this was so fun!), Garth Brooks, Reba, Vince Gil, Toby Keith, and Blake Shelton all hail from Oklahoma.

We love our Thunder Basketball!

As I was looking into Oklahoma made products, one thing was clear.  We like good food!  Sonic Drive-In and Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy both started in Oklahoma, and we produce some great brands including Head Country BBQ sauces, Bedre Chocolates, Daddy Hinkle's Marinades, and Shawnee Mills baking mixes just to name a few.  My personal favorite food product made here is...

Griffin's! Imagine that!
(our last name if you didn't know)

The popular line of Frankoma Pottery also comes from Oklahoma.  Certainly one of the best companies to come out of Oklahoma (I think you'll agree) is...Hobby Lobby!

But without a doubt, the best thing from Oklahoma is our people.  As demonstrated through tragedies such as the Murrah Federal Building Bombing and multiple devastating tornadoes, as well as every day events, the people here are kind.  They are generous.  They are strong.  They are resilient.  They are family.

So what does all of this have to do with our last day of giveaways?  Today, to wrap up this week-long birthday bash, I'm sending you a big hug from Oklahoma!  I wanted to share some Oklahoma love with you, so one winner will receive an assortment of goodies from OK!

Included are:  Shawnee Mills baking mix variety (corn muffins, corn bread, buttermilk biscuits, and-my favorite-honey bran muffins), Daddy Hinkle's marinade mix, Head Country BBQ sauce, Griffin's red plum jelly, a vintage 1969 Frankoma commemorative Christmas plate, a $5 Sonic gift card, a $5 Braum's gift card, and a $20 gift card to Hobby Lobby!

Want to win?  (If you are the winner and don't have Sonic, Braum's, or Hobby Lobby in your area, we'll work something out.)

I know some of my readers have difficulty commenting here, so feel free to hop over to my Facebook Page and leave a comment there, I'll count those too. *Sorry, but my budget can only allow shipping to the Continental U.S., so only those living here are eligible to win.

This giveaway will close Sunday (9-8-13) evening at 10 p.m., Central time. All winners from this week will be announced on Monday.

Have a great weekend, friends.  We'll be cheering on our beloved Oklahoma Baptist University, who has a football team again this year for the first time since 1940. Go Bison!  I'm also putting the finishing touches on my new, old dining room table.  Can't wait to show you next week!

I hope you all know how happy I am that you're around!

What great thing comes from FL? Sunburn. Ha! No really, oranges, lobster and the BEST cuban pastries and coffee ever. :) (Okay, that's mostly Miami, but hey, I get those goodies whenever I want. :)

  3. A nice cold drink from Sonic sounds perfect on a hot day like today. I was born in Utah and in my opinion, the very best thing that comes from Utah is fry sauce. Ketchup plus mayo plus "flavoring ingredients" like pickle juice. I was seriously bummed when I moved away from Utah and had to dip my fries in plain old ketchup.

I think one thing coming from Texas is pecans. I ship them every year up to Michigan for their enjoyment. Thank you for hosting this great giveaway. I LOVE me some cornbread !!

  38. Hi Jennifer,

Remember how I told you we used to live in OK? Well, seeing Griffins' brought back fond memories. When we first moved out there I was so disappointed I couldn't find my Duke's mayo. Then I discovered Griffins' mayo and syrup. Delicious! Apparently Duke's didn't travel past the MS. River.
Pepsi was founded here. Thanks for bringing back such a nice memory.
