The Dining Room Plan

I finally have a plan for my dining room.  Sometimes I really just have to sit on a decision for a while and let all of my thoughts simmer, until inspiration strikes and I know what I want to do.  I'm really trying with this re-do to think everything through, and then think some more, so I am 100% happy with it when I'm finished.  I don't want to be making changes in a year (or 6 months!).

Inspiration photos that mix different host chairs with side chairs and big chunky rustic tables caught my eye.

And I'm crazy about the idea of using Houndstooth Drapery!  Yes, I got design inspiration from Tori Spelling.  She actually has a really good website with lots of great ideas and design advice.

So, while thinking about all of that inspiration and putting it together with the pieces
I already have, here's a little design board that I put together.

1.  I already have an antique chunky legged dining table similar to this one that I'm going to use.  It does not have a leaf and I'm having a carpenter make one for it, so I'm on hold with that one until he can get to it.
2. & 8.  I told you about my china cabinet dilemma here, and you all came through with some great suggestions.  My sister's suggestion was one of my favorites, hanging a large faux deer head like this one over the china cabinet.
3.  I have already purchased these side chairs.  Love them!
4.  I have a pair of these that you all weighed in on here.  I was 98% convinced I was going to do a black and white graphic print, but then I changed my mind (see #7) and decided to do a neutral fabric.
5.  This chair is my inspiration for the wingbacks...I think I'm going GOLD on the frames!
6.  My chandelier that I already have, and it's staying.  Although, it may go gold someday, maybe.
7.  I professed my love for houndstooth here and decided to use it for the drapes.  I hope to show them to you this week!  Due to using a graphic black and white here, I decided to go neutral on the wing chairs.

I'm not sure what type of artwork I'm going to use on my one full wall in the dining room yet.  I've already done a large botanical gallery wall in the kitchen, and as much as I love botanicals, I think more in the dining room would be overload.  Looking for options here.

I know my style is all over the map, and there's no way I could ever attempt to define it.  I just choose what I like and throw it all together!  So what do you think?  Any other bright ideas you think I should consider before I get any further down the road?

  5. Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with
the images on this blog loading? I'm trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it's the blog.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
