STYLED FOR SPRING HOME TOUR: MY ENTRY STYLED 3 WAYS

Here in Oklahoma, our temps have been well above normal lately, and as a result I think everyone has Spring Fever early this year!  I've definitely been ready to spruce up the house for Spring, and I'm so excited to share my Entry with you today for the Styled for Spring Home Tour.  In fact, I was so excited about this space, that I even styled it three different ways!

Before we start with the tour, I wanted to say a big thank you to our hostesses, Randi from Randi Garrett Design and Jennifer from Decor Gold Designs for organizing this tour and inviting me to participate.  These ladies have worked really hard to put together a stellar group of tours!  If you're visiting from CC + Mike, welcome and I'm so glad you're here.  CC's porch and entry are absolutely stunning, I could just stare at those glossy black walls and black and white flooring all day long!

For today's tour, since it is just one small area,  I had fun playing with some different styling options and thought I might as well share them all with you.  Some of you might like streamlined and simple, some might prefer a "more is more" approach, so I have a little something for everyone.

Look #1 is very simple.  I pulled a few accent colors from the rug (regular readers...surprise!) and piled up a bowl with fruit which is one of my favorite accessories this time of year.

(You can see a peek of the Dining Room in the mirror.)

Look #2 gets a bit more dramatic and slightly more formal.  As I mentioned at the beginning of today's post, I've been feeling the itch for a few changes here and there.  So, you all are getting to see the first one today... (see what this room previously looked like here)

I'm head over heels with the new rug in the entry!  Because of a few other changes I'm making in the adjoining living room, the striped rug had to go (it found a good home in another room, though!).  I've wanted to add in hints of pink here and there, and this rug gives me a good jumping off point.

The first thing my husband said was "It's so soft!" and it is!  I love that there are so many colors in it, and they can really read however you want them to.  Is it blue?  Is it black?  Is it hot pink?  Is it red?  YES!  All of those colors are mixed in when you look really closely, so it's easy to pull out the ones that you want to accentuate.  For me, I'll take all of them!  ;)  Another bonus is that with the pattern and color, this is a great choice for right inside the front door...it will hide a multitude of stains (not to mention it's a really great price right now)!

Before we move on to the last look, let me just point out that this gold vase might just be the deal of the century!  I found it online, but when I went to pick it up in the store I was shocked at how big and nice it was for the price.  I can already think of about 4 places that I want to use this one.

Look #3 goes all out!  I couldn't resist pulling it some blue and white.  It doesn't match, but it goes with the rug.  You all know I can't resist mixing patterns, and I think this mix gives a playful and more casual feel to the space.

I've tucked plants everywhere I can through the winter, I'll be happy to move some outside again soon.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I'd love to know what you think of the Entry, and what your favorite look was.   The next stop on today's tour is Stone Gable, you are going to absolutely love Yvonne's home!

  15. The new rug is so happy. My favorite of your three entry looks is #3, with the pink jar and the blue and white jars.

On a separate note, thanks so much for recently sharing my shop as a source for your readers to get their own Chiang Mai Dragon pillow covers! Yours are just the perfect pattern and color scheme for your space.

  16. The three new looks are very pretty, but have to say I miss the green and the Chiang Mai Dragon pillow and chair in the entry! I absolutely love your blog and your amazing creativity!!

  17. I have never seen anyone mix colors like you do, and I LOVE your mix! All three looks are awesome and that rug is spectacular. Also, I need those bells on your door. My sweet puppy rings bells on my back door when she wants to go out, but mine are simple jingle bells on a ribbon....some like yours would be better. Source? Sue

    1. Hi there! Those were a seasonal purchase at Target this year. They originally came on a big cotton rope but I switched them out to the striped ribbon. I checked the site while writing the post and they don't have them anymore, and I couldn't find anything similar. So sorry!

  18. Did you paint your dresser yourself, and if so, is there a blog post about it? Love all three looks!

  19. I went to my local Target today and bought the round gold vase you showed in your entry. It was a great buy, but I noticed on the bottom the tag that reads NOT to put water in it! I am planning to put a cylinder vase from the Dollar store inside (it does fit) so I can use it for fresh flowers. Just thought folks might want to know - and didn't know if your tag might have been missing!

    1. I did see that, Sandy, but I didn't even think about mentioning it here. I always slip a smaller vase inside these bigger containers just like you're talking about, so that didn't even cross my mind. Thanks for the heads up! (Although I'm not sure WHY you couldn't put water in it??)

  20. LOVE the rug!! You know, I've never been a pink person but the past 2-3 years I've been more attracted to it ~ this year especially! I love the ginger jar that you spray painted...perfect in your decor. All views are quite beautiful and I think that #1 and #3 are my favorites. Now, come to Texas and help me! :)
