"VINTAGE SCHOOL DAYS" BANQUET DECORATION IDEAS

Last week we held our annual Widows/Widowers "Heritage Banquet" at church (you might remember me sharing last year's decor here ).  This year the theme was SO cute, I wanted to share again!  I know that some of you are like me and help decorate for various events, I thought this idea is a good one to keep as a possibility for something you might do in the future.  Let me start also by saying that although I had a role in helping with last year's event, I can't take any credit for any of these decorations!  This year the "Vintage School Days" theme was totally conceived and executed by my friend and a team of helpers.  I enjoyed just attending and knew you all would enjoy seeing the decorations!   Everything turned out absolutely darling and our honored guests seemed to really enjoy the evening.  Anyone who wished to was invited to wear any of their old school gear, we had several vintage letter jackets around the room that were fun to see. CHRISTMAS PHOTO BOOTH BACKDROP IDEAS (AND SOME CUTE WINTER FASHION STAPLES!)

A FEW THINGS... EVENT DECOR, FAMILY, TIPS, AND A DOUBLE FEATURE WITH BHG!

Occasionally I have a some things to tell you that don't warrant their own blog post, so "A Few Things" is my opportunity to share all of those random bits and pieces with you.  Today I have a little bit of everything to talk about, including some exciting news!  ( *This post may contain affiliate links, read my  full disclosure policy here .) I know that many of you who follow along here like to get simple new ideas for banquet or party decor, possibly even for church gatherings.  Last weekend I attended our retreat for ministry wives across our state, and snapped a few photos of the tables to share with you.  Each table either had a wood charger or a piece of burlap fabric as the foundation for the centerpiece.  Then, there was a lantern filled with battery operated twinkle lights or candles, a few hydrangea stems in a mason jar (we cleaned out Trader Joes!), and a piece of artwork scattered around on some of the tables.  Simple but pretty! ......

TISSUE PAPER ICE CREAM SUNDAE PARTY DECORATIONS

We recently had a ladies' event at our church that I helped decorate for, and I always like to share those events with you in case you're looking for banquet or party decorating ideas also.  I'm usually searching for ways to decorate a lot of tables for a little bit of money.  It's challenging most of the time, but with lots of help from friends and some hard work, things always turn out cute! Our theme for this event was "Sundaes on Mondays", and it was a craft night focusing on making a variety of craft projects to give to others through various ministries in and around our church.   And, a sundae bar was our treat for the evening of course, so it was pretty easy to continue that theme through to the table centerpieces.  I started with inspiration from this photo and we went from there to make these work for our event. ...

HOW TO MAKE A STYROFOAM RING SNOWMAN AND CHURCH CHRISTMAS BANQUET TABLE DECORATIONS

Hey friends!  I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend.  Did you get all of your Christmas shopping done?  In store or online?  I actually didn't do too much shopping, I was too busy decorating for Christmas and watching the new Gilmore Girls! (What did you think?  As much as I love GG I gave it about a 7 out of 10... but it was so good to see everyone back together again!)  I plan to wrap up my decorating in the next few days and then I need to get on those Christmas lists!
