April 2021 - Dimples and Tangles

Just before publishing this post I saw a reader's comment from yesterday's tour alerting me that I had titled it the "Spring 2020 Home Tour"...  goodness!  I just can't get past 2020!  Ha!  For technical reasons I know a blogger should never change the title of a post after it's published, but I just couldn't leave it as is and corrected it- maybe that post will never be seen again but oh well!  Funny thing is, I did the SAME THING in the title of today's post.  #facepalm  I'm so glad I saw her comment before I published today.  So, I hope you enjoy my Spring 2021 tour of the Living Room!

I really just added a plant or two, switched some pillows, and changed the mantel out for Spring.  It feels good just to freshen things up and move some things around to different spots.

A symmetrical mantel is one of my favorite things!

These vases were a FB Marketplace find last year, and I added some faux blossom stems from At Home.  I mixed 2 different kinds for a little variety, one is a peach blossom bush an is just a bit darker, then I mixed some cherry blossom stems (the taller ones) in with it.  I found some child sized bow ties in the Easter collection at Hobby Lobby- perfect for these dapper guys!

I'm loving keeping this big punch bowl on the coffee table and dropping various plants inside (I had poinsettias in it for Christmas).  They last so much longer than fresh flowers, and if I want a pop of color I can add a small bouquet in with it.  A hanging pot is the perfect size to drop inside, or I have a plastic bowl/liner that fits inside that I used with the poinsettias to combine three smaller plants into the larger container.  It's also super easy to pull out the pot to water it.

Same thing here- I kept two small ferns in their original pots and dropped them in this larger bowl, then covered the top of the pots with moss.  That cute little cane box is from Hobby Lobby.  My sister gave it to me for Christmas and I've had an eye out but haven't seen one again.  I think they disappeared fast from stores around me!

You saw this spot decorated a bit for Valentine's day- I moved around a few things for Spring. I'm really enjoying the pair of buffet lamps in this spot.  (Covered Shade tutorial here)

The abstract art and frame were both DIY projects that you can read about here, and at the end of that post I've linked some colorful abstract art prints available to purchase if you'd like to create a similar look.

I couldn't say no to this cute scalloped tray that I saw at At Home recently.  It had a white distressed finished which you know isn't really me, but a quick spray paint job fixed it right up!

So there you have it!  I'll leave you today with wishes for a Happy Easter 2021 😁to you and your family.  I hope you're able to be with friends or family this weekend one way or another, but hopefully in person!   Our family will be celebrating our Risen Lord! (If you're local to OKC and need a church home, we'd love to see you at our church for Easter and every week after that!)

(*I had to run to my last morning of Bible Study this semester and didn't have a chance to add sources yet.  You've seen them all before but let me know if there is something in particular you'd like to know about and I'll add those in later today.)
