PINK AND RED VALENTINE'S DAY TABLESCAPE

Sticking with one of my favorite color combos, I built this year's Valentine's Day tablescape around a pink and red color scheme (which I used last year too, can't get enough!)

My Mom has been doing a great job cleaning out and decluttering her house and she came across these collectible Royal Doulton Valentine's Day plates that she is getting rid of, but first she offered to let me use them on my table!

Each one is dated by year with a different romantic illustration.  They're darling! (For sale here if anyone local to OKC is interested.)  She also gifted me the pretty pink stemware and let me borrow a few of her cut glass ruby stems.  The white dinner plates are from our casual service that we registered for when we married.  Still use them every day!

These DIY candlesticks make a fairly regular appearance in my tablescapes, I just can't quit using them! With their happy pink color, I especially couldn't resist using them for Valentine's Day.

I used my favorite table runner trick again... a strip of wrapping paper down the center of the table.  The top layer is actually 2 yards of the cutest pink and red patterned fabric that I just folded into the size I wanted and pressed the edges.  You'll probably see it again one of these days remade into pillows!

I think that tulips seem to go hand in hand with Valentine's Day.  Some of the red ones were out of control but that's part of the charm... they have a mind of their own!

Both of my kids have activities the evening of Valentine's Day this year so we'll have a family dinner at some other time.  Ray and I prefer to go out at lunch (less crowded!) so it looks like we'll get a movie night to ourselves!  :)  What are your plans?
