FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I might make a small commission at no extra cost to you.  Read my full disclosure policy here.

1)  I recently picked up this cute floral piece at Marshall's.  It technically says it's a nightshirt, but I don't think it looks like a nightgown at all!  It seems more like the perfect cover up to me.   It's a thinner lightweight cotton and has been perfect to wear over my swimsuit this week.  I found it online for you, and it's currently on sale so it's not much more than what I paid for mine.  I would say it's true to size, but I bought a size up since I'm using it for a cover up and wanted it extra loose and breezy.

Of course, I couldn't resist monogramming mine before we left!

2)  This Tassel Bag Charm/Keychain is the best priced one that I've seen.  Love the colors in it and it's just a tad toned down from the super bright ones I usually share.  Easy to clip on a bag, basket, or lamp!

3)  We were in New Orleans for a full day earlier this week.  I told you that my daughter and I had plans to browse the shops along Magazine Street while the boys toured the WWII Museum, but it was SO hot we didn't last long outdoors.  We quickly found ourselves at the mall downtown where the air conditioning was abundant.  ;)  I popped into a Banana Republic and am so glad I did, they were having an awesome extra 50% off clearance sale.  I bought these 3 pieces in store, then ordered a few more things online yesterday (extra 50% off sale applies online too!).

This denim shirt was my absolute favorite purchase.  It's a tunic length, light weight and really soft with a relaxed fit.  I bought my normal size M but also tried on the S and it fit too.  If you're in between sizes you could size down for a slightly more tailored fit even though it's still relaxed.  At less than $20 I know this is going to be a staple piece in my closet!

This Tie-Cuff Denim Shirt was also soft and lighter weight, and such a bargain at $15.

This jacket was marked a little cheaper in store than it is online, but it's still a great deal.  The fabric is thick with a bit of stretch so it's super comfy.  It has a little extra length to it and will be easy to dress up or down.

I always try to share the BEST bargains or cutest pieces with you from a great sale, so here are the ones that caught my eye (click on photo for more details).  I ordered the scarf (40x40" for $10!), both pairs of trouser pants (a closet staple for me, I like to dress them up for church or meetings), the cute short sleeve striped top (it buttons up the back!), and the pin-tucked 3/4 sleeve denim shirt.  The tote is suede and reversible to the prettiest rose gold metallic, perfect for Fall.  I think the snakeskin slides would be great for Fall too!   Don't miss the Men's Sale items as well if your guy could use some new things.

4)  I can't remember if I've shared this Bamboo Flatware with you before, but if not, here you go!  A set of (4) 5 piece place settings are on sale for around $25.  I ordered some and they should be waiting for me when I return home from vacation, I can't wait to use them for casual dinners this Summer and Fall.

5)  These are the best earrings!  I bought them in gold while they were still available (now sold out) and love them so much that I ordered the white too.  They also come in hot pink which I really wanted too, but alas, I'm overloaded on hot pink earrings.  ;)  These are lightweight, make a nice statement on their own, and are a steal at $9.99,  I think you'll love them!

Please stop back by tomorrow, I'll have a special post for you!  Before we left I scrambled to set and photograph a new patriotic tablescape that I intended to share with you yesterday.  Well, we've been so busy relaxing on our vacation I haven't had a chunk of time to edit those photos and get the post ready.  ;)   But, I'm wrapping it up today so it will be ready to share tomorrow.  I wanted you to have a few ideas as we prepare for the holiday.   See you tomorrow!

  1. Banana Republic at The Shops at Canal Place (which is where I am assuming you wound up) saved us during that weird SNOW IN NOLA event back in early December! We went to a family wedding and almost froze, so we sprinted over there and bought some outerwear for the NOT predicted weather! I had never shopped BR before, and I am now a convert. You always have great picks in clothes, etc. Have lots of fun on the rest of your vacation!
