SWEET SATURDAY # 21

Happy Saturday!  It's been a while... before the holidays since I've done a Saturday post, so I had some fantastic posts stored up.  Enjoy reading!

*A friendly reminder... if you'd like to pin one of these great ideas, please click the link and pin directly from the original source, not from my blog.  Thank you!

I've never done more in Las Vegas than drive down the strip on our way through town, but this post from Rachel at Pencil Shavings Studio made me want to visit, just to see all of the colorful inspiration and design!

FIVE FRIDAY FAVORITES

Happy Friday!  I'm back with my new Friday series today.  Each week I'll be sharing 5 things that caught my eye, or that I've purchased and approve of and thought you might like too.  Fridays are always a day when weekend sales get kicked off, so I'll be watching for those super deals also to pass along to you.  (*Affiliate links used in this post.)

I've had this top for about a week and am starting to see lots of people sharing it, and for good reason!  Most of the time I don't like the length of Loft knit tops (usually a little shorter than I prefer) but this one is perfect.  The hem has side slits and the fabric is a super soft knit that's a nice weight and not clingy at all like some knits can be.  I love the fun full bell cuffs and since they're 3/4 length they don't quite get in the way as much as some full sleeve styles can.  It's hard to tell but the stripes are a dark navy, and this is going to be the perfect Spring/Summer top to pair with so many different colored pants and shorts.

PAINT COLOR GUIDE FOR MY HOME

I regularly receive questions about paint colors in my home, so I thought it was about time I put them all together in one post for an easy, quick reference.  There's a mixture here of wall colors, furniture colors, and my favorite colors of spray paint.  I hope this paint color guide is a helpful resource for you!

DIMPLES AND TANGLES BEST OF 2017

Most bloggers were doing year in review posts several weeks ago and I debated even doing one at all.  However, I thought it would be a good overview of the year especially for newer readers and a quick glimpse of everything that happened around here through the year.  I hope you enjoy the recap of the best of 2017, and maybe even discover a  post you might have missed!

Even though there were no full blown room makeovers this year, several spaces got updates.

I don't think our cats would be too happy about the leash, but this is the cutest set and the $12 price tag can't be beat!

MORTAR WASH BRICK FIREPLACE MAKEOVER

Last Fall, on Instagram I shared a peek of a project that my sister and I did for our parents.  My Mom is planning to redecorate their Living Room and wanted the brick lightened up, so we decided to do a mortar wash on the brick one week while they were gone on vacation.  Surprise!!  My sister already had a pretty good idea of what Mom wanted, so it wasn't a total shocker but they didn't know we were going to do it while they were gone.  Everyone on IG loved the transformation and asked lots of questions so I decided to write everything down here to share.  My sister did all of the research and planning for the project- I was just the hired help.  ;)   I didn't plan to do a full tutorial at the time, so I didn't take a lot of detailed photos.  These are just the basics of what we did, but if it's a project you're wanting to tackle I think it's enough to get you going!  You can't really mess it up... be brave!!    ;)

CHEESY CHICKEN PASTA CASSEROLE RECIPE

Brrrrr... it sure is cold in Oklahoma (yet somehow we've missed any snow!!) and almost everywhere else around the country it appears right now, too!  With temperatures hovering well below freezing for days and days, we just want snuggle in with some warm comfort food for dinner.  You too?  A friend shared this cheesy chicken pasta recipe with me years ago and it's one of our favorites.  It's similar to mac and cheese, but adding chicken makes it more substantial and a little more grown up!  ;)  My daughter had some friends over for lunch on Monday when they were out of school, so this was an easy recipe to throw together to feed a crowd.

OUR CHRISTMAS HOME FEATURED IN BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS MAGAZINE- BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE PHOTO SHOOT

Well, hello there everyone, and Happy 2018!  I hope you all had a blessed Christmas season and that your new year is off to a wonderful start!  I've taken my sweet time easing back into blogging after the holidays.  I truly unplugged from any kind of work here through the break and enjoyed the season with my family.  It was really nice!  However, because of my slower posting schedule I have neglected to share the details of a huge event for us here with you... our Christmas feature in Better Homes and Gardens!  I've mentioned the shoot here and there on the blog through the past few months, but the time finally came and our feature really was in the December 2017 issue (even though we had the shoot, a little bit of me never fully believed it would be published until I saw it in print!).  Many of you saw the feature and have already sent me such kind messages, so thank you!
