I typically don't do much decorating for Halloween, but when Ariel from PMQ for Two invited me to create a Halloween Tablescape along with some other talented ladies, I couldn't say no!  True to my style, I filled my table with a variety of mix and match patterns, sticking to a traditional Halloween color palette.

I pulled tons of black and white parts and pieces from around my house.  Even though there are many different patterns, the consistent black and white unifies everything.

I gave a nod to the holiday with these cute clip-on spiders and attached them to a simple gold napkin ring I already had.

I kept the centerpiece simple- brass candlesticks layered on a spotted runner (really, just a piece of fabric!) and filled with a variety of black and white candles.

The zinnias in my flower bed are still going strong, so I snipped a few to add in one pop of orange.

The candlelight glow is perfect for these dark, cozy evenings.

I think this little black and white table fits in so well with my house, I might just remove the spiders and switch the flowers, and keep it going well past Halloween!  I can make black and white work for any season.  ;)  Thanks so much for stopping by to see my table today!

When I posted this photo on Instagram over the weekend, everyone was so sweet and went crazy for it!  I've had several people express interest in instructions for how to make it, so I put together this gingham painted pumpkin tutorial for you today.  I've been busy for the past few days painting lots of pumpkins, so I'll share some other design ideas with you too.

October is flying by, but I finally got my front porch all decorated for Fall.  I reused several pieces from last year's fall porch decorations, but changed up the color scheme, adding in some hot pink and white with the orange for completely different look.

I'm switching up my Fall decor a bit this year (finally getting around to decorating!).  Seeing a big trend with embroidery hoop floral wreaths lately, I thought this season was the perfect opportunity to try one out!

I've been blogging for over 6 years now and have had many opportunities to share some amazing products and companies with you.  I've never been as excited to share a company with you as I am today, though!  I want to introduce you to The Plaid Pineapple, it's founder Denise, her purpose for her business, and tell you why I'm so happy to be working with them.  And, I'll show you the cutest gingham sneakers you ever did see in the process, too! Well, you all sure had some strong opinions about Part 1 of the Designer Showhouse Tour that I shared last week.  And, for the most part I agreed with you.  I debated whether to even show you the rest of the house.  However, even though it's not an over the top fabulous show house and some of the design is pretty out there, I think there are still ideas to be gleaned and lessons to be learned.  I think Audrey's comment from Part 1 of the tour sums up my intent best:

"As a whole I join the consensus, but I'm always distilling the parts so I can integrate them into my own spaces. There were pieces like the monopoly game that my engineer/builder son will HAVE to make! I loved the possibilities of the black and white study! Many light fixtures were to die for!"

So, here's (most of-I still edited out some of it) the rest of the house!

This upstairs office was one of my favorite spaces, the graphic wallpaper and velvet chairs were the highlights for me.

This traditional style home has pretty color in every room.  Some muted, some bold...there's a lot to study and take in.

A few weeks ago a friend and I toured a Designer Showhouse that was open here in Oklahoma City.  I took plenty of photos and thought you might like to see the tour as well.  I believe that designers from a variety of local decor stores were responsible for decorating each room, and to my understanding this was a pre-existing home that was used for the Showhouse while on the market.  The design throughout the home varies greatly, some things I really liked and some things I did not.  To each his own, right?  I'll show you at least a look from each room, and highlight some of the things I thought were good ideas and things that inspired me for future projects.   There were so many rooms that I'll share a portion of the house today and will do a second post with the rest of the home at a later time.

The covered porch was all decked out, that tassel garland caught our eye and we want to make one of our own! Also, how about that rug...look familiar?   ;)

Have you toured the HGTV Urban Oasis Home yet?  WOW!  I could sit and stare at every photo for days.  Love Bryan Patrick Flynn's work!  Not only is the interior incredible, the exterior of the home is so, so good as well.

Early last year I shared some Ikea Favorites with you, and after realizing that there were so many things that I didn't include on that list I thought it was time for another round!

Some of these are things that I consider to be Ikea "staples"... what I purchase time and time again, what I'm glad I purchased, and things that I use in my home.  If you don't get to Ikea often, the store can be VERY overwhelming, and it's easy to end up wandering around aimlessly caught up in a sea of choices in each department.  So, I'm highlighting some things to keep an eye out for when you go. The in-store photos are phone pics and the lighting is bad, but they should give you an idea of what things look like on the shelf.   I did try to include the label in the photo so you could see the price, too.

IKEA, stockholm pillow, eivor blanket, ribba frame, poppig tray, gurli pillow, lappljung ruta pillow

This Summer only had one significant DIY project, I painted the built-in shelves in the living room white!  You might have caught a peek of the changes here or there, but I'm just now getting around to formally sharing it with you.  I thought I'd better get it photographed before things get decked out for Fall!

Over the summer I had the opportunity to participate in a few projects with Hobby Lobby.  Their corporate offices are located here in Oklahoma City and they invited me to help them create some videos featuring their farmhouse style products, then later in the Summer invited me back to do some Fall and Christmas videos.  The videos were all released on various social media channels, but I realize there are probably some of my readers that might have missed them there and thought you might like to see the finished videos.

I know we're all holding our breath and nervous for our friends in Florida and along the Atlantic coast as Hurricane Irma blows in.   I'm sure you feel the same way, I just can't get over the magnitude of this storm.  We continue to pray for our family and friends in the Houston area, and now Florida and up the coast through the weekend and for the days ahead.

Hip hip hooray for a long holiday weekend!  Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy some time outdoors this weekend, but when you're ready for a break, here are some of my favorite shows on Netflix that I enjoy, and thought you might too!   I'm keeping this list generally family friendly- PGish.  That doesn't mean they're necessarily for kids, but I wouldn't cringe if I was watching one of them and the kids walked through the room.

I was so honored to be invited by Christy and Amy of 11 Magnolia Lane to participate in this Operation: Organization Back to School series today.  Honestly, I'm not the most organized person and am constantly fighting certain problem areas like I'm sure many of you do, so I wasn't sure I had much to share on the topic.  However, I've found a few small things here and there that help our family and me personally stay on track,  so I'll include those throughout the details of my day.  If you're a new visitor today, welcome!  I'm so glad you stopped by and hope you find something that you can relate to here.

Our hearts continue to go out to our family and friends in Texas who are devastated by Hurricane Harvey.  Please do what you can to help.  Here are just a few ways you can help monetarily: We personally contribute to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, but Samaritan's Purse and the Red Cross are also worthy organizations providing help to those in need.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Well hello there!  Long time no post, right?  I absolutely did not intend to only post a handful of times this Summer, but boy, our schedule over the past few months just about did me in!  Nope, no slow, leisurely Summer with afternoons at the pool here... we were WAY too busy and unfortunately when I did have a day or two to catch my breath blogging was not at the top of my priority list.  However, the kids are back in school, we're easing back into a normal routine, and I'm ready to get back to it!  Since it's been so quiet around here I thought I'd catch you up on what kept us so busy all Summer (one thing in particular...keep reading!), and a few other random tidbits.

Welcome to My Five Favorites today!  Pam from Simple Details, Lisa from Shine Your Light, Kris from Driven by Decor and I are all so excited to share our five favorite before and after projects with you this month.

We're welcoming Shelley at Crazy Wonderful as our guest today, and I think she must be pretty humble because she should have named her blog Crazy Talented!  Case in point, that stunning black botanical wall (psst... they're DIY!!) in her gorgeous dining room.

I'm anxious to see what she's sharing with us today for her favorite B&As too, so join me and be sure to stop by, say hello, and take a peek!

One of our biggest before and after projects has been the Patio makeover that we started two summers ago.  We removed the pergola and added a solid roof in it's place, extended the existing roof and floor area, and added a fireplace. The after truly feels like we've added a whole new living area to our home, and we're using it every chance we get!  Check out the reveal post to see a closer look of all the details we changed as well as links to all of the projects along the way.

I'm probably teetering on the verge of y'all being tired of seeing the Powder Bath makeover, but it's probably the most dramatic before and after in my house!

It's tempting to only include big, dramatic, full room makeovers in my favorites today, but small projects that don't take much time can be just as satisfying!  These sad thrifted lamps are still one of my all time favorite B&A projects- all it took was some paint, new shades, and a little bit of time.

And guess what?? Surprise, after 4 years they just got another makeover last they're pretty in pink!

Of course, a good furniture trash to treasure transformation is always a winner in my book.  These nightstands are one of my favorite before and afters, because I figured out a simple way to change the dated look of the top drawer into a classic, timeless style.

These Vintage Wingback Chairs took years for me to actually get them from the before to the after, but it was worth all of the effort! Love them flanking my dining room table.

Goodness, once I started digging through the archives, I couldn't stop at 5 today!  Here's a few more I'll just give you the photos of, click the link below the photo if you want to see project details.  More of my favorites!

Lastly, I've got one big before and after bonus for you today.  A few months ago we reached 10 years of living in this home (unbelievable!).  If you missed it, I did a big post on where we started, progress, where were are now, and how my style has changed through the years.  It's full of lots of good before and after photos!

Do you have a favorite before and after project from your home?  I'd love to know what it is!  Be sure to head over to check out these before and after transformations, too.
