2016 CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR PART 4- MASTER BEDROOM

Today I'm sharing my final Christmas Tour with you, our Master Bedroom.  Can it just be our little secret that I didn't share it as part of another tour because I didn't have it ready yet?  ;)

For the most part, my Christmas decorating in this room consists of adding a few festive accessories and a pillow swap... that's it!  It's nice that the green headboard fits right in for the season.  The red pillows are borrowed from my son's room, the greek key pillows float around the house, and I got the plaid pillow a few years ago at Homegoods, but saw it again this year at Marshall's.

I added some ornaments to our juju hat temporarily by threading a piece of pipe cleaner through them, then gently inserting that "stem" through the feathers (like you would add a flower pick).  It's not secured or anything from the back, the pipe cleaner just gives enough length and "grab" for the ornament to stay in place.

You might have noticed in our Living Room Tour that I moved the chairs from our bedroom in to flank the tree.  So... we played musical furniture and everything that got moved out from the Living Room got moved in to our bedroom!  The leather chairs are bigger than the wingbacks in this spot so it's a little crowded, but it's fine for a few weeks.

This is also the landing spot for other larger accessories that I'm not using in other rooms at the moment...

a few ornaments mixed in the moss of the orchids add some subtle Christmas cheer.

The succulent bowls from the patio mantel found new homes inside the house during freezing temps, and everything standing still got a bow tied around it this year!  These replica Staffordshire pups were a happy find at a local antique mall.

Early in the new year I'll be working on a few small changes, and if you have a sharp eye you might have spotted that I switched out the mirrors over the nightstands.  It's the best story...  I found one bamboo mirror for a steal on Craigslist, and really wanted a pair so I could use them here.  I posted what I was looking for on our local Facebook garage sale sites, and after about a month someone contacted me that they had one for me to buy!  Yippee!

So, with just a few simple touches here and there, our room is ready for the season!  More details, sources, and photos of how the room usually looks can be found here.

  5. I have a question: I notice you have a fireplace in the bedroom. Seeing that you have the table, chairs, etc. in front of it do we presume you don't use it during these colder months? Pretty decor.

    1. It's just an electric fireplace (heater basically!). We love it and use it often, glad it looks so convincing! 😊
