STYLISH, AFFORDABLE, CUTE PILLOW COVERS AT HOBBY LOBBY

I had to run into Hobby Lobby the other night for a few things, and of course found myself veering off track from what I originally came in for.  I walked down the aisle full of packaged pillow covers, and couldn't believe my eyes!  I had to call my sister (who works at the HL corporate offices) and say, "Have I been under a rock, or are these new???"  They had the BEST new patterns, especially right now if you're ready to start thinking about making a few changes for Fall.  So, I did what every good blogger would do and sat in the aisle for 20 minutes and took photos to share with you! ;)

I'll show you the ones that I really liked and list the price too, because I know you'll want to know!   Just remember, discount the price by 40% if you use your coupon (did you know there's a Hobby Lobby app you can get to always have a coupon on your phone?), which makes the prices hard to beat.

Fall decor, pattern mix, pillows, brass trunk, autumn decorations

I have some kilim pillows that I got from Walmart probably 10 years ago (in photo above), and last year was the first time I've used them since I've been blogging.  Everyone wanted to know where they were from, and I was sorry that I didn't have an affordable source since they were so old.  I pulled them out to use again this year, and the questions are already rolling in again!  I think that's why these caught my eye...

Kilim!  Great texture!  Pretty patterns and colors!  Affordable!  I tried to get a close-up so you can see how good the woven texture is- priced at 16.99. (Remember, that would make it just 10.19 with your coupon!)

There were 2 more kilim patterns (both 19.99)-

I loved the colors in this Santa Fe style pillow (14.99)-

It has more of a fine knit sweater type texture.

I honestly couldn't believe this patchwork cowhide pillow.  It's got a variety of solid colors, and some pieces of the trendy metallic splattered cowhide as well. (29.99, down to 17.99 with coupon)

This one was also a stunner.  It looks black but is actually chocolate brown, and is super heavy and thick.  (23.99)

I'm not sure if this one is new, I just thought it was cute!  That's metallic leather (11.99)-

These are some designs that they've probably had for a while, but they caught my eye and I thought they looked nice for the price.  Some are just cute and trendy for a fun little pop!   I didn't take all of them out of the package, but you get the idea from the photo.

"Enjoy the little things" is actually gray and is monogram stitched, looks much more expensive!  The "love" pillow is stitched in clear sequins for a little texture and sparkle, and the flamingo is just fun.

Good black and white patterns- the left is printed on and the right is a fine knit sweater type fabric, nice texture.  (prices in top right corner)

There were some interesting metallic prints- The bottom left is furry with metallic cow spots.  Not sure how I feel about that one but it could be interesting in the right spot.  Bottom right, have you seen the mermaid sequin fabric?  You run your finger across it and the sequins flip over and change colors, so you can design your own pattern or write a message.  Kinda fun!

A few more that I thought were nice for the price- watercolor, cable knit sweater, linen look with nailhead trim, and mongolian fur look.

I'm a huge believer in having a set of good pillow forms (see my tips and tricks here).  With that in mind, you can just switch the covers when you want a change... it's so much easier to store a stack of covers than a stack of pillows that aren't being used.

The only potential down side is that these are all 18x18", which isn't necessarily bad, I just like my pillows to be at least 20".  As a fun accent pillow, though, or on a smaller piece of furniture, I think they would be great!

What do you think?  Have you seen any of these in your store yet?  Several are pretty new styles, so if you don't see them quite yet, give it a week or so and keep checking.  There's also a selection of pillow covers online, but it varies some from what's in store.

Hopefully that gets your creative juices for Fall flowing, sometimes seasonal decorating is as easy as swapping out pillows!  Don't forget to check in on the 2016 Fall Home Tours that start today!

  2. I have bought a few covers at Hobby Lobby - the lumbar size. Like you, I prefer a larger square pillow. I wish they would offer a larger size!

    1. I totally agree on the size, I think that would bump pillow sales even more! :) And, I just thought the same thing about the feather inserts, too!

  12. Thank you so very much, I stumbled across your site for the 1st time, yesterday! I called HL this a. m. and they had 2 of the cowhide pillow cases available!!! I'm still in the parking lot- LOL! I love cowhide/calf hair and have quite the collection of rugs & booties! I bought (the last) 2 cowhide pillow covers, 2 black/copper & 2 white gold mermaid sequin pillow covers- all for $62.79! I just just have to purchase the down inserts. Thanks so much, I'll be sure to visit your blog often.
