CRESCENT ROLL LASAGNA {QUICK WEEKNIGHT SUPPER}

Do you have plans for  tonight's  dinner yet?  There's nothing worse than 5 o'clock rapidly approaching and being clueless about what to fix for supper.  This is one of my go-to recipes when we need something in a flash.  And besides the fact that it's quick and easy, it's become a family favorite...I suspect some of us even like it even more than traditional lasagna. Ingredients: 2 cans crescent rolls 1 pound cooked, drained hamburger meat 1 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce 1 16 oz. container cottage cheese 2 cups Mozzarella or Italian Style shredded cheese Sliced mushrooms (optional) 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and spray a 9x13" casserole dish with non-stick spray. 2. Unroll 1 can of crescent rolls, and lay the whole can out on the bottom of the dish.  Flatten and pinch together seams if necessary to spread across entire bottom of the dish. 3. Combine cooked hamburger meat and jar of spaghetti sauce.  Layer 1/2 of mixture on top of cre...

BLOGGER STYLIN' HOME TOURS: FALL 2015

Hello there!  I'm so excited that you're here today to celebrate my favorite season!  I'm always honored to be a part of the Blogger Stylin' Home Tours organized by Lindsay from The White Buffalo Styling Company.  These are some of the best tours in all of blog land!   If you're visiting from Swoon Worthy , didn't you just love Kimberly's tour?  I'm a big fan of her chic style and love of color. My tubs of Fall decor used to rival the number that I had for Christmas, but I've been using less and less of that stash for the past few years.  I'm finding that I'm enjoying using my favorite pieces that I keep in rotation throughout the year, but adding a touch of Fall to them with natural elements, warm colors and textures, and foraged greenery. Welcome to our Oklahoma home! DIY Black and White Striped Pot I shared my Entry and Living Room in an Early Fall tour a few weeks ago, but here's a peek for you, too.   ...

PATIO PROJECT {FRAMING AND ROOF}

PATIO PROJECT {FRAMING AND ROOF}

Well, it's been a few weeks since we've had a patio update.  As a reminder or if you're new here, we tore out our previous existing pergola and covered patio and are starting almost from scratch to create a large outdoor living space.   The past few weeks have been filled with the framing, roof, and electrical work.  I took a photo after each day's work was finished so you can see the progression.  The first one shows where we started, with a bit of demo done so the new construction could begin. And... finished! The completely new roof section on the left is a little shorter than the other side.  If we had made it flush all the way across, there would have had to be additional support posts that we didn't want.  We like the thought of having the small section open, though, for those occasions when we do want to sit out in sunshine.   The fireplace, some additional brick work, guttering and painting are the last major steps to g...

EASIEST EVER TRAIL MIX

EASIEST EVER TRAIL MIX

Happy First Day of Fall!  I thought I'd share one of our family's favorite Fall snacks with you today to celebrate the occasion. This is a mix you either already know and love, or else you've never tried it!  If you're in the latter group, you're missing out. This "recipe" (this is too simple to even be called a recipe) only calls for  3 things... dry roasted peanuts, raisins, and regular M&Ms.  And, there aren't even any real measurements to go by.  Mix about equal parts of raisins and peanuts, and then add in some M&Ms.  I'll let your conscious be your guide on how many of those you put in.  ;)  And it might not be bad, either, if peanut butter M&Ms are all you have in your pantry at the time... just sayin'.  Mix up a batch, feel good about it being mostly-healthy, and watch it disappear! It's one of our favorite road trip snacks and we especially love to include a bag in our backpack if we're hiking or...

FALL CENTERPIECE {HOSPITALITY FILLED HOMES}

Today I'm so excited to be part of a special series created by Sonya of At Home with the Barkers and Melissa of Daisy Mae Belle, called Hospitality Filled Homes.  We want to encourage you to share your home with others, and are giving you some simple decorating ideas as you do just that. The theme today is Fall Centerpieces.  The colors I used aren't quite conventional for Fall, but that's never stopped me before! I knew I wanted to use horse apples and mums, so I expanded my color palette from there.  I'm a big fan of using a creatively folded strip of fabric for a table runner, but this time I found something even easier... a scarf!  This one that had the bright green of the apples and some browns and yellows to tie in some Fall colors too.  And, the blue was a bonus since I never miss a chance to use my Blue Willow on the table! This simple centerpiece was easy to assemble in just a few steps.  First, choose a container.  I used a brass planter, but ...
