BEST OF THE NEST MAY FEATURES

We wrapped up the Disneyland leg of our trip yesterday, beginning around 7:30 a.m. with Space Mountain and shutting down the park at midnight last night with a final float on Splash Mountain.  Many thanks to Pam who shared her feature post with me today, since I was too busy vacationing to get mine together!  She's a gem!  We're on to San Diego today and have reservations for a whale watching cruise this afternoon.  Thank you to reader Lesley who suggested that to us!  Anything else that we shouldn't miss in San Diego?  I'd love to know!

Here's Pam with our features for this month...

Happy Friday friends!

Hope you're enjoying the first week of June, seems everyone was in the mood for refreshing their patios last month. We had rain, rain and more rain, so I'm a tad behind, but hoping to get outside this weekend and finish up. Enjoy these inspiring spaces!

Becky @ This is Happiness shared some tips for casual entertaining!  Simple and pretty are perfect for laid back summer style with friends, and how fun is that striped umbrella and the refreshing beverage!

Summer @ Simple Stylings revealed her fabulous front porch makeover!
She removed the railings for an open feel, and DIYed her way to a welcoming spot
for al fresco dining with neighbors ~ love that!

Christine @ Little Brags shared a creative table set up on her back patio for Mother's
Day! I love the chalkboard you can personalize for any occasion, and her creative
 addition of hanging lanterns!

Heather @ Southern State of Mind was finishing up her bedroom when things snowballed!
She continued right around the corner with gorgeous Hale Navy paint and before she knew
it she had a beautifully updated foyer!

We'll be taking a break from Best of the Nest over the summer,
but will be back in September with a new spin!
Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Hi Jennifer, hope you are enjoying your vacation here in my home state. I don't recall noticing anyone recommending Legoland (although you might be theme-parked out). In San Diego, I suggest you get to Old Town or the Gaslamp district. The latter is probably more enjoyable for adults, with jazz clubs and fine dining, though. Old Town is a great walking street, lots of Mexican restaurants and good "street theater" if you like people watching. When my daughters were younger, they liked to stroll with me, as long as I bought them some churros!!

Ask at your hotel, they'll show you the best route to get there. Find street parking or a garage, and enjoy the evening breeze and the fiesta of colors.. I think a couple of margaritas are calling your name!
